Only way to get past that, is to not have a cell phone period. They may not be able to figure out your Exact location, but close enough anyway. All they have to do is Triangulate from the towers.

A tech friend that works with a cell company told me that on some of the smart phones that the service provider can ping your phone and turn the locator back on, now if its its 100 percent true I do not know.

welderguy I've had an iphone for over a year I love it. i recommend getting yourself an otterbox for it. It keeps it clean and protects it from damage and from the elements also. I got mine at the local at&t store for around $35.00

The Otterbox Defender is not waterproof AT ALL!!!

I bought a hermatically sealed bag (camo! ) from bass pro that I keep strapped to the loops on my pack. I tested it for water tightness and it performed acceptable for me. I can operated my iPhone through it no problem.

Its just like a dry bag where you fold the top down a couple o three times and then snap buckle it.

I looked for it on Bass Pro Shops site and only found this alternative to the Defender. $9.99 and camo!

Even with my discount I want a phone that's LOUD with big NUMBERS. When I worked for them I had a cell, radio with outside speaker and a lousy pager. I have one but forget to turn it on or take it with me. I just want a phone, that's it.
