Good to hear some people have actually been pleased by a politician (outside of a coke fuelled affair setting, at least).

Can someone help me understand why this is a big deal? I will make clear that no matter how you took that, I'm not taking the mick.. just wondering how the hell your boss would know you have a gun in your car anyway, and for that matter why you want a gun in your wheels just to get to work?

Help me understand? Nothing like that here. Only gun nut inbreeds or gangsters want guns on em all the time and anyone else would just keep quiet about having one at all.

How could the fact you are on private property overrule a (in my understanding? ) concealed carry permit or the legal vehicular transportation of arms? Can your boss tell you to throw your smokes in the bin, or how to vote?

I'm quietly baffled... someone help me out?

What a difference 800 miles makes. In Massachusetts, it's illegal to leave a firearm unattended in a motor vehicle.

Employers have been allowed to discriminate by not hiring or firing someone who smokes away from the workplace (home). Ted Turner.

Hybrid - One of the Amendments to our Constitution provides us the right carry arms. It's a hotly debated subject and I won't veer off into that but suffice it to say a lot of Americans feel very strongly that the right to carry a weapon for self defense is gauranteed by law. That said, if an employer will not allow you to maintain a weapon in your locked vehicle it effectively prohibits you from carrying it to and from work.

That, on the surface is bad enough but what if you choose to go on a trip directly from work? What if you want to go the range after work? You see the point?

I happen to be licensed to carry a weapon and I'm strongly in favor of the new legislation (if you couldn't tell by the headline). So is my wife. I want her to be protected no matter where she is even if it's to and from work.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

I wonder why people keep posting our picture Rick?

@Nell - do you mean excused as in for good, or just logged off for now?

@Hybrid - some employers took it a step further and searched employee vehicles. This was done in the name of preventing theft, but if a weapon was discovered, the employee was terminated.

Oh yeah. Chalk one up for the good guys.

    Some definitions
Militia- citizens armed and trained to defend their homes, their states and their country.
    Keep- Own
    Bear- Carry
Arms- Weapons and as these weapons are for the defense of home, state and country that would mean the state of the art at any given time. I will this last part was supposition, but only slightly.
