Default Credit Agency Warns U.S. and Others of Risk to Top Rating

    And so it begins..............

“Growth alone will not resolve an increasingly complicated debt equation,” Moody’s said. “Preserving debt affordability” — the ratio of interest payments to government revenues — “at levels consistent with Aaa ratings will invariably require fiscal adjustments of a magnitude that, in some cases, will test social cohesion.”

You know.....If I (a not so smart, average person.) can see what the consequences of these peoples actions will be, then surely they know.

My question is...Knowing the damage that they will do, what is the reason for their actions?

I have very strong opinions about this, but I don't want to get into the politics. I would just like for people to think about the reasons.

I truly suspect many hidden agendas are in play.

It is not a question of IF, but a question of WHEN.

Since January of 2010, all bets are off in my book. I've said it several times and I'll say it again. If Health Care reform gets passed kiss your @#$ goodbye. And I'm pretty positive on the economy.

If it fails and our leadership finally figures out the economy should be job one then it will just be another business cycle. Paying down debt is not going to be a fun thing but it's something that has to be done. NOW!

I don't particularly understand all this government borrowing and stock market stuff, so I tend to equate Govt borrowing and it's debt with how it affects the pound in my pocket. The Govt Budget is being announced next week. For a change, Thursday should be interesting (Budget is on Wednesday)

I agree. After last week's Treasury auction they pretty much have to.

So, if I wanted the world to be run by on "world" gov't, and I wanted to be the leader of that gov't, how would I go about it?

Rule the worlds greatest superpower, and take over it's industry and economy?

Make policies, or at least try to, that keep business/investors scared to do anything to improve the economy, and everyone crying for me to do something....anything....which gives me the power to change what ever I want?

Change it's policies to match others in the world?

Don't fly it's flag, to show that it's not an independent country anymore?

Hand it over to the "world gov't?

Oh, Oh, Oh,....and if I could make everybody worry about global warming, I could impose controls on carbon emissions.

That would give me huge amounts of money, and power over everybody that does or produces anything!

    Muahahahaha!
