I'd tell you that thing is cool as hell, but you'd just correct....again...lol

I worked in a dental lab, buffing partial plates for eleven years. Couldn't tell you how many of the brissels I had to tweezer out, thousand I imagine, but the weren't metal! Man I bet that did smart quite a bit! Glad you had the glasses on!

Thanks. I get a kick out of bringing old things back to life. I've never been much of a throw away guy and hate that everything is disposable. I have a similar one that is on 30(?) inch legs. There about. It's in really good shape but it does have some rust on it. I'm going to tear it down and rebuild it too. I want to use it for fall canning outside so I don't heat up the house.

About 20 years ago, we had a switch board blow up on a ship we were building, because of a few weird errors, one of our supervisors was very near the board when it went, his face was a real mess from the aluminum, but his eyes were fine after the flashes cleared up because of the safety glasses that he was wearing.

Thanks, sjj. I have a variable speed Dremel with the heavy duty flex shaft. It's the older Digital Rotary Tool, which I ran at 21K. So I was probably running it too fast. That makes sense.

The stainless weren't a problem at all. The carbon ones sure shed, however.

    Thanks for the info!!

Well I wasn't going to share this with anyone.......
I was standinding on the elevated deck of a mobile home out in the country. It looked abandoned but in working with the Census we have directives to place the forms on any structure with an address that isn't open to the elements. Well this bit of redneck engineering of deck making was done with untreated lumber and 2X4s as the decking material. It looked well weathered and I stepped as carefully as I could. As I stood there placing the the Census form in a plastic bag I turned and set my right foot down running not across the board there but right on top parallel to it. Before I could even react my foot was through it and my leg went in up to my knee. My calve and knee are much wider than 3.75 inches of the 2X4's width. So it was like being in the jaws of a leg hold trap. I was fairly scraped up from the plummeting down into place; but trying to pull my leg out really scraped it. Luckily I had a small bottle of antibacterial liquid soap in one of my cargo pockets. I used it to lube my leg up and then I could pull free and used it to wash the wound. I have a 12" slice in one side of my leg, probably from a nail and what looks like road pash and another 10" cut on the other side not to mention massive bruising from the slamming impact. I had a first aid kit in another cargo pocket and a bottle of water in my truck. I washed the wound with the same soap I lubed it up with. Then I did something that made me see white hot pain. I wiped all the wounds with an alcohol prep pad. Then I applied New Skin sealer and wrapped the wounded area with gauze in the truck. Two bits of good news from the experience. 1) A sudden shock wont give me a heart attack and 2) I have as high a pain tolerance I thought I did. Because I didn't swoon, faint or scream. I did use some colorful language, I'm sorry to say.
It's been a week and still looks pretty gnarly. I sent my cousin pics with my cell phone because she asked about the accident. She said the pics hurt her just to look at them.
I wonder what the home owner will say when they see the hole in the deck and the blood all over the deck?

I didn't say you were fugly. Have you seen Burt lately? He sort of looks like the Riddler these days. You can only pull your face back so far before your eyes wind up on the side of your head.

Rick I was calling myself fugly. If old Burt gets one more face lift he'll be able to do movies in asian contries, as he'll look like a native.
