how secure are our rights as citizen on this forum?
why are we subjected to muzzeling?
to satisfy the small minds of few?

i know that everyone is an expert, everyone is a critic.

It's like this; this is a private forum, not a public one. Therefore the rights are on the side of the owner; which, in this case, is Chris. When you registered you agreed to follow the rules which is, in a sense, muzzling yourself. If you didn't want to do that you shouldn't have agreed to follow the rules.

A good example might be what is allowed in your home & what is not. When it involves private property the general rights of the public do not apply. Again, this forum is PRIVATE property & membership is granted to those who agree to abide by it's rules. That's called keeping order.

I am going to paraphrase that great American 2D. Your freedom of speech does not take away my freedom of speech. You have shown on numerous occassions that your views and the views of the majority on this forum are not in line with each other. As much as I would defend your right to speak your mind, you need to respect the fact that there is a significant number of members of this forum that do not share your views and infact, as I do, find you insensitive, rude and frequently obnoxious. So it is your choice, accept , or hit the road. It is not like anyone will miss your inappropriate and gratuitous rants.

And please, continue to enjoy the freedom of speech that our military has made possible for you

    AMEN!

All too often we think our rights supersede the rights of others. I think about Winnie and the place where she lives, and I'm grateful to live where I do. I'm also grateful to be part of such a diverse and focused community. This is a good opportunity for me to say thank you to everyone who tolerates me here. Mostly because I'm so intolerant.

Self restraint and mediation are simply public courtesy.
Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. Helen Keller

You asked the wrong question, Stony. You should ask why you are so out of sync with society. If one person tells you that you are wrong, blame the person. If two people tell you that you are wrong, then you need to think about it. If everyone tells you that you are wrong, then maybe you're wrong. I defy you to show me one post supporting you. Anywhere. That should tell you something if you would take the time to listen.

Most people never read forum rules or FAQs, especially if they have an agenda.
    Chris's house. Chris's rules.
That goes for any private forum on the internet.
If people don't like the rules in a certain forum, they can go start their own.

Sometimes it is not the point of view that is the problem, it is the delivery of it that offends. Work on your delivery stony and you will find less trampling of your "freedoms"

Surely it's a simple matter of good manners. Whether it's a private forum or not, whether you agree or disagree, there are ways to say things without being inflammatory. Or you can keep your mouth shut and respect anothers opinions. JMO

Here are nine individuals all telling you that you were wrong. Maybe you should give it some thought.

There are times and places for freedom of speech such as when is it ethical and when it is not ethical.

The only time Free speech "Really" applies, Is when you are talking to yourself, Any time you speak your mind in public, you risk confrontation, So If you are looking for an argument, Go for it ,, lol

    You know, Stony,

The fact that most of your posts are devoid of logic is of no consequence to me.

The fact that I disagree with virtually every opinion you have ever expressed here is of no consequence to me, either.

When you write posts saying that you don't need a BOB or that you disagree with the preparations we make - well, that's your opinion.

However, when you write smug and offensive and insulting posts, which always fly in the face of common courtesy and decency, I do pay attention. You're not only the village idiot, Stony, you're also an obnoxious man. If I were to venture a guess, Stony, I'd bet that most of the people who know you personally feel the same way as I do.

You leave an impression on people, Stony, and the impression you leave here has never been good. As a guy who professes to be so much smarter than everyone else, you must know, in advance, what the reaction to your inflamatory posts will be. So live with it.

    it's pretty simple:

Guests can not see images in the messages. Please register in the forum.
    Troll; from wikipedia:
    n, internet slang
someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.

many of us do it occasionally, for the genuine and sincere purpose of humor, but beyond a point, or with different intentions, it can become disruptive, and a privately operated and maintained forum has every right to enforce any policy it wished to prevent it.

I was going to refrain from comment until I read some of Stony's posts. Well suffice it to say I couldn't find much to stand in his defense.
