Exclamation Wash. man electrocuted by urinating on power line

Man crashes car into power pole, survives, then dies while relieving himself near the fallen live wires.
    Mon Mar 1, 2010 5:01 PM EST

    MONTESANO, Wash. —

Authorities believe a Washington man was killed by accidentally urinating on a downed power line after a car crash.

Grays Harbor County sheriff's Deputy Dave Pimentel (PIM'-en-tel) said Monday 50-year-old Roy Messenger was not seriously hurt after he collided with a power pole Friday and called a relative to pull his car from a ditch.

However, family members found Messenger electrocuted when they arrived.

Pimentel says Messenger apparently urinated into a roadside ditch but didn't see the live wire. The urine stream likely served as a conductor, allowing the electricity to reach his body.

Pimentel says there will be an autopsy but burn marks indicated the way the electricity traveled through Messenger's body.

Little Johnny goes into school one day and tell the teacher he found a dead cat.
Teacher asks "How do you know it was dead Johnny?"
Johnny says "cause I pi$$ed in his ear and he didn't move"
    Teacher says "WHAT?!?!?"
Johnny replies"You know, I went up to his and went pssst"

I don't know if that would work or not. I suppose it depends on the voltage. But urine isn't a solid steam of water. It's actually a series of drops. Myth Busters did a segment on some guy that supposedly whizzed on the third rail and got killed. They debunked the myth because there wasn't a sufficient stream of water to conduct the electricity. They eventually got it to work but it required a lot of water. More than a beer night would muster up.

Having said that, truth is stranger than fiction but it might be the guy took a whiz then got electrocuted or some sequence like that rather than just whizzing on the wire. If you think about it, if the wire were live, it would be more likely to go to ground than up a stream of urine.

They also did one, that said that Carlos Hathcock couldn't have shot through a scope, to kill an opposing sniper. After people threw a fit, that it did happen, they figured out that their test was flawed, and then concluded that it could be done.

    No thank you!

When I was a kid, I skim-boarded into an electric fence, one time...that was enough!
