Good survival pants?

Hey everyone! I was wondering what you thought of EMT pants as a possibility for good pants for survival. Most EMT pants these days are Teflon coated, which presumably would at least keep them from getting soaking wet. Plus they repel dirt and oils! Also, they have a lot of pockets for tools, etc. Any thoughts? Link attached.

Looks like an idea, it's just that I personally don't care for polyester.
Mostly like Carharts or wool.

Those EMT pants will perform similarly to BDU's as they are the same material. The pockets and fit might be different, so that would be up to you to decide what you like. But, as far as how the material performs, they should be similar. I don't know how the Teflon would help or hurt. It might make them less susceptible to moisture, but also less able to let your legs and crotch breath. At any rate, they are better than jeans.

Just about anything I can fit in. I find that less clothing means less material to get and stay wet against the skin. That can be a real problem in the winter. I've found a thong is ideal and works well with my going barefoot in the winter theme.

The trail is sure to give me away, unfortunately. It's always my foot prints and a solid 4 inch wide solid line in between where ever I go. Maybe I should get rid of

You know, Rick, it's a good thing you clarified about the "4 inch wide solid line". For a minute there, I was worried you were being followed by a band of rogue squirrels in a little squirrel car, trying to get at that thong of yours...

I use the wheelbarrow to carry my survival gear. I only carry the necessities.

I just use blue jeans. I guess you could spray the bottom half of the legs with Thompson's water seal or something to keep em from getting wet.

Blue jeans have some serious drawbacks to my eye. Not only is the cotton an obviously problem in cold and wet but stickers and thorns move right through the loose weave into your skin. And they are miserable when wet and chafe like crazy. I learned the hard way.

They work good for me and I go thru lots of thorns while morel hunting in the spring. never have too much problem with them getting wet unless I'm treading snow. They do dry out very fast when next to a fire or the like. I've been out in some serious downpours and then do get wet, but dry out easy.

I've never got chafed by em either. They're pretty tuff and that's what they were originally designed for. Tuff work pants!

But, I'm not into buying "survival pants". LOL!

I bought some really cool tactical pants from Blackhawk. They have lots of pockets and are perfect for shooting, but they aren't as durable as I thought. 2 pair of them have small holes near the front zipper and I have no idea why.

Teflon coated pants? So... non-stick? Are they super fast when sliding down glaciers? Just had to say.
