    Unhappy

I wrote a whole piece on how I thought it went well, but I got an e-mail after finishing that said I was passed on.

I'm sorry. Still, you have that interview under your belt. I always figured an interview was a learning experience either way.

Thanks. The position was bottom of the totem pole. Just sucks to know they didn't think I was qualified for that.

Maybe they thought you were too qualified.

G, think of this interview as a warm-up for a job you'd be thrilled to have. The more you practice the easier it gets, the more confidence you build up.
Just keep going out there and I promise you you'll get something.
Believe it or not, these days you actually have a better chance of landing something than someone older and more experienced. You cost less, you are not jaded, you are eager to learn and they'll work you 24/7
    It's all good!

Hey Geronimo. Have you tried any of the tax companies (H&R, etc)? It is that time. It may not be what you want to do but might hold you over until you find what you want. Just a thought.

I've tried a few public accounting firms that do tax work. H+R block makes you pay them and I'm without money

Try small accounting firms. One man shows. This time of year my accountant brings in several to help him for a couple of months.

They make you pay them?! I knew I didn't like them for a reason.

Twenty years ago the powers that be decided that there would not be a need for dentures in the future. So dental schools stopped teaching the technics and dental laboratories invested in other departments. Well with millions of baby boomers now in their 60's, immigration and crackheads the demand for dentures has never been higher. I have been making them for 30 years mostly working in large commercial labs. We have so much work we can't keep up. If you have a pulse we will hire you. Alot of small labs need help with accounting type work. If you like to work with your hands maybe you could do lab work part time and help them with their books part time. Starting pay usually isn't that great, but if you have any common sense you can advance rapidly and make a decent income. Good luck.
