Multitasking = not doing anything well?

Sorry, I forgot to mention, I make my own definitions when I think it is needed . Lived too long under others. Usually makes for short conversations

So let's take it out of the work environment.
On any given night I'm likely to have 3-4 different things cooking on the stove ALL at the same time.

Is that multi-tasking?
Would it be better if I cooked one thing at the time and just kept it warm while starting on the next?

I would not think so. It is one unit of work (meal preparation) and mighty important one may I add . And it is not done in that fashion just to have multiple things open. Here again, my view. Perhaps it is too convoluted. But I accept that and will continue happliy on my way

Good example Benesse. Because I, for one, would be someone who says "stick to the task at hand" but I tend to do exactly what you said and while the pots are bubbling away, feed the dog, go through my mail and return phone calls. Every evening pretty much. And I have never had any complaints about my cooking before anyone suggests such, by the way, (not from the dinner guests that survived anyway!)

No, I don't think so, around our house it was called being a MOM, and I don't really think of it as multitasking, just way way it is.
I'm still not sure how it's done........or where the eyes in back of the head came from...................

Multitasking is a fancy work place term, at home it called living.

Hunter is great at multi-tasking. He can set his arm on fire, flap it like a chicken while reaching for the fire extinguisher and running for the trough. The man is talented.

LOL, reminds me of the old moonshiner we lived next to when I was a little kid. This was one of those kind of guys who was always inventing tools for specific jobs (this is pre--every power tool imaginable at your fingertips days), went hunting whenever the urge took him, never held a driver's license in his life I don't think. But get him working on some yard project and lose his temper, man the kids from all over would gather to see what new swear words that guy would invent. He had a real gift. Some of his phrases I've held onto over the years for special occassions.

trax, I know the type, working in a factory with guys from all over the world, I come to realize that in most cultures extra points were given for creativity in cussing, not necessarily just vulgarities.

I'm sure that anyone that has traveled much, figures this out, pretty fast.
Old Russian guy told me that in their language there were more cuss words than non-cuss words.
