ND: "I think that the inner (BIG) city dwellers are crazy for wanting to live in that environment! I haven't ever seen a car-jacking, mugging, rape, stabbing, etc., out here in the woods, nor in the towns I go to when picking up supplies. And, when I see a bear, or big cat, I know to avoid them, which prevents any trouble".

Mountain lion sightings in Alaska are rare.

ND: "Two years before I moved full time I lived for a year in AK. 80 miles from the nearest town, in an old trappers cabin".

    I'd say it's not Alaska.

You say it's not Alaska and I'm in agreement with you.

But I'm still waiting to hear "Someones" side of the story. Hey maybe "Someone" accidentally embellished the story a little.

Keep in mind that he has 2 canoes. An 18 footer and a 21 or 22 footer depending on which post you read and he paddles them both up river by himself.

I just got back from a tour up the Yetna with a Lesbian couple and I'm to tired to read it.

I wouldn't have thought that touring with lesbians would involve anything going "up the Yetna".

But, hey, glad that worked out for you in the end...

OK, so after all this chatter the person in question could answer and clear all this up.
But maybe in that remote location it takes a while for the lap-top to charge. And the satellite to go by.
    Well ND?
You've had some very informative post here with some good info for many to learn by.
How about telling us about the area you live in. your silence has peaked my curiosities.
Nobody really cares, we just want to know if what you say is first hand experience. Even if not its still good info. Ive learned a lot from your post here.
