This tattoo. Did it have anything to do with alcohol? Just wonderin'.

You can pretty much rest assured that the guy who confesses to being an expert is not and the guy that says, "I get by" is probably a lot closer to the maker's mark.

WE, I am not surprised at all that is was a newby that called himself an expert. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. I've seen this plenty as a lineman...admittedly I was even one of those idiots when I first made first class. Then one day I really messed up and one of the old guys I thought was no good had to save my a$$....I learned more that day than I learned in the 5 years it took to make the rating I had. I spent the next few years with my mouth shut! Now, I am just an advanced student.

Expert? I will never meet this person. Even the best of the best will never stop learning until there dead.

Can I stop just before that. I REALLY don't have to be an expert that bad.

    "Who's that guy?"
"Him? Oh, that's just a really old guy that stopped learning a long time ago."
    "Is he an expert?"
    "Naw. Just kinda good."

He'd best stay away from my Maker's Mark and buy his own whiskey!

My personal definition of an expert...someone who knows the most efficient ways to produce the best quality consistantly and uses them.

you oughtta poll this... see how many think they are experts vs. those that will admit that "the more you know, the more you realize what you don't know"
Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. Helen Keller

An expert at making fire may be of no more use to you than a outdoorsman with local knowledge of the woods and a lighter.

I'll listen intently to an expert on improvised shelters in the North describe how to build a shelter with 2' of cover. But, I am going to do so from a chickee lean to that any idiot can figure out given a few minutes time.

We can debate camo, bows and rifles. We can debate tatics and traps. But, my buddy took a deer from an f350 flying down I-75 with a gator-aid bottle. You shouldn't argue his tactics with your mouth full of back strap.

I'm going to say that compared to most people I personally know. He is the expert at taking white tail deer with beverage bottles. But, I some how don't see me practicing this.

Besides, I am too bust practising my spacesuit drills...

One, two, booosh! That's my problem I guess. I put my space suit pants on one leg at a time like the rest of y'all.

I can't even say that in three seconds. I am so dead if some one drops me off in space... Booosh! Game over man! Game over!

Well, then. The other option is to wear your space suit all the time. Preventative space suiting. PSS.

    WE,
You come up with some good and interesting ideas for discussion. Some have answered very well to your question. IMO it comes down to truth in your self. In time, truth will make it's self known to others.

Well let's wrap up two of your favorite sayings. "Self proclaimed expert feral people". How's that?
