The Ipnavik river is about 15 miles to the west of the Etivluk river. The area in question is just north of the Noatak National Preserve.

This is an area of AK that is unknown to me. I haven't even heard of the rivers, and little mention of the Noatak Preserve. I need to locate it on a map.
I think we've established that "someone" is not being totally forth coming. Now all there is to do is wait and see if "someone" decides to come clean. If "someone" does not come clean then for me he has lost all, let me say that again "ALL!" credibility.

On a map find the west coast of Alaska, follow it north to Kotzebue Sound. The Noatak river flows into Kotzbue sound. The Noatak National Preserve surounds the Noatak river. Further east the Noatak Preserve conects to the Gates of the Arctic National Park.
There is a village in the Gates of the Arctic National Park called Anaktuvuk Pass that I have been to many times. It is a beautiful place but extremely harsh in the winter.

is this the Northwestern Brooks range? It seems that there might be places just as remote in Gates of the Arctic NP....or even east of the there. However, my map is not real detailed, so I am sure there are villages and settlements that arent on it
What about a little west of Fort Yukon, then straight north up into ANWR, thats gotta be real remote. My map shows no villages in that area?
Even if you were smack-dab in the middle of that area you are still no more then 80 miles from a village.

I need a more detailed map. Mine basically makes the majority of AK look uninhabitated. thanks for the info...
Alaska is a really big area but there is just no place on the mainland that is as remote as "someone" is claiming.

That gets into the Dalton Road area doesn't it? Atigun Pass? Bettles North and Coldfoot are south of Anaktuvuk. Am I in the wrong area?
