IWB holsters? Any problems?

I haven't found one that I was comfortable with and wearing on the left side ruled out a lot sold years ago. Over the years I have tried many and carrying a Beretta 45 is more than most carry. I finally made my own a few years ago, several actually until I got what was good for me. Simple and comfortable for what I carry. Anyone else feel like they are carrying a rock on their side that's just not comfortable and what did you do to correct it?

I guess everyone has a bunch of holsters laying around that just didn't work. When I choose to carry my .45, which is usually in the woods, I carry OWB. It's just a lot more comfortable. I recently purchased a drop leg that is even better.

For carry around town or around the house, I generally carry my Kel-Tec PF9 in my pocket without a holster of any kind. It's light enough that I don't even notice carrying it.

I usually carry in a waist pack or shoulder bag. I've got a bunch of others that I've tried - some with success and some - not so much. I've got a couple of IWB holsters that I like. The biggest factor on comfort for them that I've found is my weight and fit of my clothes.

I have NEVER found a IWB holster that felt comfortable to wear. IMO the most uncomfortable kind of holster there is.

These days I enjoy pocket holsters for my smaller pistols, or a waist pack concealment holster for my larger pistols.

Don Hume model 715 (leather IWB holster) is absolutely the most comfy IWB holster I have found. I find it easier to carry a heavy gun IWB in comparison to on the belt carry. Coupled with a thick, stiff, wide belt it's hard to beat the Don Hue 715 for comfort. I have some made for Glocks (22+ 23), Sigs (226 +229), Kahr (MK9), Beretta (92FS), and a S&W (4006 + model 60). It's smooth outside lets its slide against your clothing instead of grinding your clothes into your side reapeatedly in one spot. A sturdy belt clip stops it from moving out of position on the belt. Obviously some of the weapons listed are large and heavy. This holster makes them very carryable and the weight becomes very easy to deal with. In fact when I retired my S&W 4006 (all stailess steel and pretty heavy) for a Glock 23 or Sig 229, I sometimes forgot I was carrying a pistol. It was still very comfortable none the less with that heavy S&W 4006 (@ 37 oz unloaded). That is a good bit heavier than your Beretta Cougar at @ 32 oz unloaded. These holsters are definately worth a try for their very reasonable price (@$25-30). They made me a believer in IWB carry. Also I stress again the belt. It must be thick, wide, and stiff. A good belt will make the difference of night and day. Try a police style Garrison belt (leather - order 2" larger than your usual waiste size for IWB carry). You can find them online at Law Enforcement supply houses. You too will probably be a believer with that combination of leather. Good luck.
