    Cool Any odds on...

So what are the odds on who's the sponsor?

    1.) Holiday Inn

    2.) Ramada.

    3.) 4 Seasons

    4.) Hilton

    You get the drift.

redwoodfox - Trot over to his web page and read some of the comments. The problem with Bear is that normal people WILL do some of the things he does and get hurt in the process. When he goes sailing down a white water river with a life vest concealed beneath his clothes or tells folks its okay to drink your own urine then then he is placing commercialism above other peoples' safety and should simply be banned from television for it.

I watch him for laughs when nothing else is on... Entertaining watching him do dumb dumb dumb things..
I often shake my head and sigh as I watch him because I know some people take his tips to heart and think they are legit...
Sure he may make a fire here or there... But squeeze moisture outta elephant $#!t..??? what kinda survival tip is that?!
Makin a "boat" outta his pants by tying knots on the legs and swimming across a huge lake... Instead of walking around?
I think he hates humans and wants them to die trying his "survival tips"... Either that or he'll say or do anything for a paycheck.

Ken has helped me out so much with legal stuff, I need to keep track of it so I can pay him back. I will be placing a 'score card' in my sig as a reminder.

I was watching it but had to shut it off when he fell through the ice in this pond he was crossing and when they panned the camera back to the pond it was tiny and would have been so much easier to walk around. Funny.....he wasnt shivering at all when he came out and got his fire going!!

Bear is certainly an accomplished mountaineer. I don't think anybody would argue that. I also don't think that anybody would argue that his show is entertaining. Many can and probably do pick up tips from him that they find useful. However - when he makes bad decisions just for the ratings and entertainment value that's where I have a problem with his show. The example that Camp10 just gave is a good one. The one that Rick gave is another. He would have had the viewers believe that he was navigating rapids all the while keeping himself afloat with his pack. The reality was that he was wearing a life jacket beneath his outter layer of clothing. Giving tips on how to survivie a night in the cold - and seeing him do it - only to be exposed at some later date that he was in fact not enduring the frigid night, but rather staying in a hotel.

The the person with experience, the show is probably good entertainment with a few good tips. To the inexperienced, it could lead to serious injury or worse.

Don't be too hasty throwing that never around. I've climbed Everest. Only I started at the top and climbed down. Not many can boast about that!

So is he like...your dad? I don't dislike Bear, I think he's got a real cute tush. Oh, and the SAS & Everst stuff has been debunked. Mt. Everest is now a tourist trap if you got the dough.

Seriously, Being a former SAS guy & climbing Mt. Everest doesn't give him the right to teach neophytes that it's ok to drink their own, untreated, urine. Or squeeze water out of an elephant turd. Even "Lofty" Wiseman who wrote the SAS Survival Manual states that it's NEVER okay to drink your own urine. However, it you want to believe im, that's fine, just don't offer anybody here a drink!

Beo - the key to a good marketing plan is to offer a unique service or product that others can't find. Trust me when I say - there is an abundance of fertilizer (wet and dry) around here.

Well my liquid feces is proven to be extra watery since I'm drinking a ton of beer right now and it even contains hops and is less filling!!!
That is a unique product I'll even throw in some peanuts like a trail mix... lol
