Default A storm of Apocalyptic potential approaches New Jersey

I was sitting back enjoying the chuckle provided by the local weather prognosticators last night and this morning. The People Republic of New Jersey is expecting approximately 4-8 inches of snow over the weekend!!! And as I was driving in to work today, I saw parking lots of local supermarkets filling, to buy the eggs, butter, milk (that they would not normally consume anyways) . You folks in the great north do not appreciate the winter weather calamities the we in the lower 48 must bear .

    http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/severewe...il&zone=NJZ019

ACCUMULATIONS OF 4 TO 8 INCHES OF SNOW ARE POSSIBLE IN THE WARNING
AREA, WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS. THESE TOTALS ARE HIGHLY
DEPENDENT ON THE TRACK OF THE STORM. IF THE LOW MOVES MORE TO THE
WEST, AMOUNTS WILL BE HIGHER. A MORE EASTWARD TRACK WOULD YIELD
    LOWER ACCUMULATIONS.

Trot over to NYC or down to DC. The towns lock up and the govt lets everyone go home early if a threat of almost an inch of snow is expected. Same with rain. Down here the "good ole boys" hit the roads & trails with their ATVs & Jeeps or any 4X4 just for the fun of seeing where they can go.

HaHaHa.....I got of work a little early, today, and on the way home, I stopped at the grocery store to pick up a little snack.

The place was packed! I stood there in line , wondering why all those people were in the store at 2:30 in the afternoon......then it dawned on me. There is an outside chance that we may get 1 or 2 inches of snow.

#$%^&*()+_ I went to my refrig a few moments ago to do some foraging (women folk left for bingo) and it seems that my dear wife had gone out and bought 3 gallons of milk, 4 loaves of bread and 3 dozen eggs!!!!!! This for 3 adults who can not finish a half gallon of milk a week, use one loaf of bread a week and maybe 6 eggs a week!!!
I grabbed 2 gallons of milk, 2 loaves of bread and 2 dozen eggs and went up the street and around the corner to a family with two little ones that I know are having a bit of a tough time . I would hate to see this stuff go to waste.

And when she gets home, we will have words on this subject!!! Most likely from me will be "yes Dear "

Lawyer: "Well, I'm sure that there's a reasonable explanation about where those groceries went. I KNOW that you did nothing wrong. Was there something WRONG with the groceries? Were the milk jugs leaking? Did they leak all over those loaves of bread? That store musta' been really busy! Did the grocery clerk break those eggs when she dropped them in the bag?"

    Pal: " Uhhh, they were......"

Lawyer: Stop! Let me guess - you brought those damaged groceries directly back to the store to exchange them, didn't you?

    Pal: "Uhh, no, I....."

Lawyer: "Stop! Okay, you didn't go DIRECTLY back to the store. You stopped somewhere else along the way. I don't need to know about that, okay?"

    Pal: "Uhh, sure, but...."

Lawyer: "By the time you got BACK to the store, they ran out of milk, bread, and eggs. You couldn't exchange them. You got a refund instead, and put that refund money in that little red kettle just outside the door, right?"

Pal: "Well, in a way, sort of, I guess........"

Lawyer: "Is that what happened? You need to be honest with me! "

Pal: "Well, YEAH! That's what happened! You believe me, don't you?"

    Lawyer: "Of course I do!"

When I lived in Columbus OH, storm preps were beer, chips and TP. And, 4-8 inches would shut the city down.

Here we get a foot and it's business as usual.
    No snow days.

You may want to spill a teeny bit of milk on the shelf in the fridge. Oh yeah, a bit of egg yolk, too.

When I told my sister (near Syracuse NY) her remark was "so you are getting flurries?) . I am finding it funny the way they are preparing here. Well, at least I will have fun playing with the snow blower

You could also figure out how much that refund would have been and leave that EXACT amount of money on the kitchen counter for her.........
