    Default I'll Never Learn.........

It happens every year on Thanksgiving..........

Dinner was a glass of wine, two HUGE plates of food with a total of about a pound each of turkey and stuffing (7 veggies, so it was healthy - sort of ). Two large wedges of Mom's pie (apple and squash this year!) And a couple of brownies and coffee.

Still, I was positive I would stay awake this time. No nap on the couch for me this year. I laid back on the recliner and then it hit me - Tryptophan - http://recipes.howstuffworks.com/question519.htm - like a boulder.

So, two hours later I woke up. One of my sons was asleep on another recliner. The younger one was passed out on the couch.

Well, that's enough reporting for now. I need to take a nap.

We had a similar calamity. After eating, the guys moved to a secluded room to watch a movie. We awoke to the chattering and chastising of the women folk. Happens every years. Will we never learn? (nope )

I went light on the turkey, (but heavy on the ham....and chicken and dumplings!) so my nap only lasted a little over an hour.

I think I'm ready for a turkey sammich!

We can't help it. When we really enjoy something, we tend to go to sleep, immediately after.

Fortunately I slept through the (the hated) Cowboys game and should have slept throught the Giants game. I'ts hell being a Giant fan in Bronco country; well at least once a year. Almost as bad as growing up near Phila. as a Giants fan.

I think the "falling asleep" after the turkey dinner is just an excuse to avoid doing the dishes.

What a chauvinist comment. I'll have you know that I not only did the dishes but also cooked Old Tom's carcass and made 3 gallons of Turkey Soup. Chauvinist, chauvinist, chauvinist. Wait 'till we talk to your wife!
