Yup they were on the BRAC list for many years. Base's being closed all over more now than ever. My Indiana Unit lost their F-16's but was retasked as an Intel Wing. My old Unit up here is being moved from it's current location to Elmendorf. Lots of changes.
Alaska to Florida, for how long, who knows...

Like the Russians and the Chineese won't be a problem in the future. Speaking of VP-26, the worst 3 years of sea duty in my career. And they had already decommisined the other 2 squadrons I was in VP-8 and VP-44. I am curious as what they are going to do with SERE School.

We don't need any of it anymore. Now that we're apologizing for our "sins" all over the world, everyone's gonna' love the USA and world peace is just around the corner.

I, for one, will sleep much better knowing that we don't have a single damn military airbase in all of New England.

Why is it, that almost every generation of politicians forgets the lessons of the previous one?

Is it too political to say I REALLY miss this guy?

Joined Presque Isle and Loring. Gosh I'm getting old, can remember missile silos and all sorts of goodies in the Northern part of Maine. Now not even large potato farms. Shame.

Up outside of Bingham, Me there was a huge military site (for lack of a better term) that was rows and rows of satellite dishes. I was up in the area hunting a few weeks ago and they are all gone! I dont know what they were for but I guess we dont need them anymore...

20%, Twinkie Man. More if it's exceptional service. But I won't respond to the bar comment.

Now ya see, Ken is pretty proud of passing the Bar many years ago. Me? Still working on it. I keep going in rather than passing them.

Fortunately, here in the Midwest we have MUCH classier places. Using the drive through sort of eliminates having to be thrown out of the place.

This one's next on my list. I loved the old location - they moved about a year ago. I'm not sure if they have a drive through now.........
