    Default Super Mice...

Well it's that time of year, the mice have moved in. Bobcat does the mean hunter thing for any unfortunate mouse that fancies it's chances in the open. For a couch potato, that cat can move, real fast! However, I have a super mouse. I can hear it pootling around in the loft, under the floor, and inside the walls. The little Bar-steward has thus far eluded capture and the cat. So far, it's enjoyed cheese, peanut butter, chocolate, a raisin, marmite and some jam. I should add all these tempting little morsels are the bait I've used for traps. The traps have been set to super sensitive and have caught a few other not so bright mice and me once or twice as I was setting them, but not him, oh no, he manages to remove said bait from the traps and enjoy the spoils at my expense. I'm starting to get just a little paranoid about this darn mouse and just a little bit competetive. There's a battle of will's and cunning going on in Winnie towers and I'm determined to win. I will not be beaten by a mouse, I won't, oh no. I shall be victorious. Wish me luck, this could be a long campaign.......

Have you tried a glue board type mouse trap? If it manages to get away from one of those it might just be Mighty Mouse!!

I hate to offer this but try a piece of raw bacon. I know, I know. It's sacrilegious but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Tie it on with some thread and the little beggar will have to tug on it and WHAM!!!!

Nope defo the mouse! The cat has claustrophobia(he's also agarophobic) and the mousetrap is in the built-in cupboard in my bedroom.

I don't know if I could bring myself to sacrifice some bacon, Rick. You just never know when you'll need a sandwich.

Poco, knowing my luck the furry little toerag is mighty mouses' cousin. But I'll investigate the sticky traps, only heard of them for insects before.

I'm starting to lose sleep, it's playing mind games and winning at the moment. I must be strong, I must be strong........

Now that there's fightin talk! I'm fully prepared for a seige, unfortunately so is he!!!!!!

An update; This mouse is cleverer than I thought, I put some laundry on earlier and the box lid was off, it's eaten some of my laundry powderI think it's trying to scare me into thinking it's rabid.

Perhaps you should enlist some re inforcements! The key to a successful campaign is an aggressive offense. Change tactics frequently!!

Winnies plight brings up a question. Does this forum have a rapid response force to assist members such as her that are facing an invasion of her turf? A suggested structure of such a volunteer force could be:

    Leader: (a dynamic, charismatic person)

Planner /navigator: (that can at least find the nearest watering hole)

Logistician / supply person: (we would need a reliable supply of bacon and twinkies)

Armorer: (to determine appropriate level of force)

Counsel: (rules of engagement for each event)

Main body: (intrepid doers of good)

Have I missed any other positions? Who would you nominate for these vital postions

But would a strategy of "inclusion" like that not invite further infestation / invasion?

I guess we will have to see what the aggreaved party (Winnie) has to say on the subject

The aggravated party is just that! I don't share my preps with anyone(or anything) that's not invited, and the mice are definitely not invited!
New tactics, hmmm like that idea, perhaps I should bury a loaded trap in the laundry powder box, a sort of mouse bouncing betty!

I would live and let live if the darn furball would contribute to the household, instaed of just taking, and no I don't think my stores need testing for quality!!!! They're just fine thank you very much!

So the rapid response unit should be here around about half past next summer then?

Don't worry about me though, I shall valiantly keep soldiering on, holding the fort and generally thinking about ways to fight dirty.

The little nippers are primed and loaded for phase 2 of operation mousus riddicus.

I shall fight them in the living room, I shall fight them in the cupbaord, I shall fight them under the stairs, I shall never surrender!
