    Default Ain't happy

Muzzle loader season is next week.

The Lyman's great plains .50 with 3F and round balls has a 1 1/2 inch group at 123 yards. I like that!

The TC encore 209 x 50 with pyrodex pellets and polymer tipped conicals have a 6 inch group at 75 yards. What's up with that!!! Do you know?

I guess I'll be doing some testing and a lot of cleaning.

Nope. I punched it before and between shots. It was clean.

Just got back and a couple of questions:

    1. Do you go to work with dirt fingers from working on your hobbies?

    2. Do you like the smell of bore butter?

Most likely the pyrodex pellets.. I have used them before they don't seem to have a truly consisttant powder volume. Have you tried using a different charge? If not give it a try It MAY help, I have a .45 petersolli long rifle using standard blackpowder w/40 grains I get consistant pattern at 100+ yards. using pyrodex accuracy drops 20-25%
If by what I have learned over the years, allow me to help one person to start to prepare. If all the mistakes I have made, let me give one person the wisdom that allows them to save their life or the life of a loved one in an emergency. Then I will truly know that all the work I have done will have been worth every minute.

I would say use loose powder and see what the results are. Then use a different bullet. That's the best I can do for now.

Thanks for the help. I'm going to start with loose powder and see what happens.

I'll check it out. A friend of mine was having similar trouble with an '06, the barrel had a hairline crack.

    Default I feel good!

I changed to loose powder after checking the sights. She's shooting great! An inch and a half at 100 yards with the last two touching.

Thank you all for the help.
