I get to play first!! I would have to say that no matter what, stay as calm as possible so you can correctly assess the situation.
"When trouble strikes, be some place else". OK seriously..."Shut up and listen. You can not hear good advise over your own voice".
I'm going to have to go with "Listen, Learn, Practice, and Apply"

Be at peace with God, Whatever you consider Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy.

A quest for knowledge is never complete.
The only easy day was yesterday.
I don't believe in one single, ultimate, survival rule. There is a lot of things you have to know to survive. But as some very good rules have been said already I will go with this
K.I.S.S
Keep It Simple, Stupid.
(Stupid referring to me trying to do something I'm not sure how to do).
Survival is not about surviving AGAINST the nature. It's about surviving WITH the nature.
You can't go in to nature, nature is not a place or an object. Nature just is. You are living it.
Be debt free if possible.
A lot of good ones take........seems most minds here think along the same lines.
So, how about, "Don't worry, be happy......your not getting out of life alive, anyway"
