Default "GOLD" hit a new record high, my mouth is rich.

Gold hit $1,100.00 per oz. today........"Monday should be interesting". I guess the richest part of my body is my free Gold tooth crown. I wonder what ever happened to the college student at Penn. State Dental School, for whom I was his final exam subject. That was 51 years ago. If your out there you should know that the Gold crown you did is still perfect.

Actually, I am that Penn. State Dental College Student. And as a token of your appreciation, can you send me the crown back?

    Thanks.

SD: I had THE PLAN in the late '70s. I needed a permanent crown and the Army was going to replace my temp one. The plan was every 90 days or so,Iwould "lose" it and need another. I'd be rich! But, as with any plan, putting it into action proved much more difficult. You see, the Army had started using an alloy (not gold) and it had no real value. Oh well, I'll wait for the lotto.

Sourdough, it is only worth something if you sell it.

Ah yes, it is good to see it's real value, versus market value. It would be interesting to see if you could sell it, and replace it with enamel (or whatever dentists use), and still come out ahead.

The average weight of a lower 1st molar full gold crown is around 3 pennyweight using an alloy that contains 60% gold.
    20 pennyweight = 1 troy ounce
Your crown may have a slightly higher ratio of gold since it was made in the dark ages. 24 carat gold would be way too soft in the mouth and wouldn't survive the first box of pilot bread.
    14.58 troy ounces = 1 pound
