I read that and thought the exact same thing. There won't be anything left for the coyotes to clean up.

I got all of them at once.

I dunno about there, but there's a leash law here. for fear of saying something incriminating, the neighbors dog was getting some skins and bones and tearing up my trash too.
then he made the mistake of being on my porch and growling as I was trying to leave.

LEO's said I did exactly the right thing. You depend on your chicks as a food source, and you have every right to defend your property.

as far as legalities, make sure you file a complaint before you take any aggressive action. always C.Y.A.!

Yea,we have a leash law here too,but it is only enforced in town.

I would sue them for the loss of the chickens, but they have nothing of value and what they do have is covered in "residue" fom their side business.
Here, the deputy told me if they come in my yard and harass my animals,I have the right to shoot to kill,(he also said that of the neighbor himself..)

Oh,about the leash law, here,YOU must capture the animal and restrain it before the animal control will pick it up,doesn't want to get bit,and I have met these dogs in MY woods and had them growling and barking at me ,I got a BB gun and harrassed them back once and ended that problem.

Hey Nell, if you can get Rick to go ahead and get that crossbow, and let you use it, you could have wieners on a stick. Then all you would need, is a little fire!
