Pet food as survival food

When I was a little tike and starting in the scouts. We had an Assistant Scout Master we called Gravy Train. Mr Greg Trainer. Once when we were out on a weekender he brought out a bag of what he called Beef Crunches.

When you have had nothing to eat for over a day and you are offered Beef Crunches, You eat and be glad you got it. You guessed it. Gravy Train!

Now I do not remember the Scout Masters name but Mr. Greg Trainer will be in my memories for as long as I live. Good Memories.

When I was in school... we had a teacher there whose name was Ed R*****. He is still alive so I am astericksing his name... We found out that his wife had been feeding him horse meat for years without his knowing about it.. We ended up calling him Mister Ed.. (after the talking horse, for those of you that are still young'uns.)

Oh,, my dog eats prime rib... so yeah, I would eat dog food to survive..

Horse meat is eaten in a lot of countries world wide. Even our friends in Kanuckistan enjoy it. Just one more mental thing we have in this country about diet. Here's a wiki article on horse meat:

I've eaten dog food and was glad, eaten dog also...when in need...

i've eaten dry dog food no problem
but for me, the canned dog food needs help ( ketchup )
same with cat food
i've actually been thinking about using
those little sealed packets of Temptations cat food
as snackfood for my next hike in the woods

The nutrional values of pet food may be slightly different but the quality control that is applied to them is a factor. After the recent spate of tainted pet foods, toys from China we have to be concerned, we don't want to injest some of those fillers they use and wind up with kidney or liver damage like some of the dogs and cats.

Horse meat is very good! . . .Have not eaten dog food, I get and additional protein I need from ants, grasshoppers, etc. The dog food is for my dog, and he would probably attack me for it if I ate any of his?!
