    Default Gun control (Canada)

Wow....if you forget to cross your t's or dot your I's, they just take your stuff.

Toronto police have seized almost 400 firearms with lapsed registrations in a six-month push aimed at reducing the number of guns on the city's streets.

In March, officers began soliciting people who owned firearms once registered across the city as part of what they call the Safe City Project. Many of those who had to surrender their firearms had either let their registrations lapse, or had stashed their guns improperly under beds or in closets.

The Firearms Act stipulates guns must be stored in a secure place or be locked so that they are inoperable.

It is my belief that the first step towards gun confiscation is gun registration.

in all realism though, you ever try to file a theft report for dozens of guns you don't even have serial numbers for? my father did once.

it was in texas though. you can't be expected to remember what you bought at a given gun show, and they have them once per month where he was at.

Must be something going around. Seems that all forum members lost their guns and ammunition recently. Go figure.

    haha.

seriously, my dad actually got ripped off. this was about 10 years ago i think. the neighbors didn't think there was anything wrong about several people in a van pulling up to the house while he was at work, forcing the door and loding the van up with his life-time's collection. they diceded to call the police when they left though, because they where speeding.

    I live in Canada

I may or may not own firearms

I am required to register any owned firearms.

I am free to buy as many firearms as I wish

I am required to use trigger locks or some other means to lock out the gun. This is to prevent accidental discharge, like with my kids. Not really high security enough to protect from criminals.

I have no fear of my guns being taken by the government.

If I get into trouble with the law I will justifiably and possibly only temporarily lose possession of my guns.

Don't let facts get in the way of your opinions.

i will never, unless by my own choice justifiably lose possession of my firearms. i'm not Canadian, but i think people from many nations will know how i feel about the matter.

i'm a responsible firearm owner/user, and i'm legal. i would not want to give that up.

The second step... The first step in controling the people is taking away the means to defend themselves and their rights. IMO

Have you ever been to Quebec? They don't even know how to speak up there. It's all "Oui, nous sommes des survivants. Nous aimons nos pistolets." How can you expect folks to trust them when they can't even understand them? I'd be checking their freezers if I lived up there, too. Learn the language for gosh sakes!

As soon as I saw your beedy eyes I knew you were a criminal!

The only thing to do to international criminals like you is to BAN THEM and then DEPORT THEM to someplace like Lagos, Nigeria.

Oh sure. Then before you know it we'll all be getting emails from him telling us about this rich uncle that left him all this money. All we have to do is give him access to our bank accounts and we'll all be rich.
