Default Deceptive Packaging or man 90# ain't what it was.

We complain about food packaging getting smaller as the price goes up. But my complaint is that 90# bags of Portland Cement should weigh 90# not 400 Pounds. Fourty years ago things were just lighter & jars were easy to open. I have got to get this project done before I turn 80 or some "Wipper'Snapper" will be make my concrete.

THank you for bringing this up. As a youngster I could carry two of those 80lb bags. Now that they have some how compacted them and made the same bag actually weigh 400lbs , I am lucky to move one into the wheelbarrow!. Maybe we can get with Ken and form some sort of class action lawsuit for their deceptive marketing tactics!!! Old Farts of the world UNITE!!!

I will take this opportunity to voice my opposition to the lengthening of the mile and kilometer, the old standard was perfectly acceptable. Mac

    Ditto Pict!
Oh and while we're at it, Stair height has been altered over the last few years too! I used to be able to bound up stairs 2 or 3 at a time, now I can barely manage 1. I'm sure some theiving so-and-so has stolen at least 2 inches from the length of my legs!

And don't forget about them doubling the calories, in the good tasting food!

I'm not eating any more than I used too, but I sure am putting on weight.....so it must be extra calories, in there!

Aaaahhhhh so that's what the problem is! I knew there'd be a logical explanation, I thought it was my washing machine shrinking my clothes!

Along with making the cement bags heavier and the mile longer, I have noticed that the bastages have also made the print smaller.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thinks this way.

Back in the day, those 80 pounders were nothing, light as a feather.

Alas, I have reserved myself to the handling of the 40 pounders now days. Or I just use the lift gate on the truck. Ahhhhhh............the lift gate.

They offered me a new 4x4 extended cab F-150 with a set of new tool boxes and all. I asked about a lift gate and they said not this year.

I said I'll keep my old F-250 reg. cab, old tool boxes and MY liftgate.

I give the guys at Home Depot a tip to load the cement onto the cart and then on to the back of my truck. THen I back right up to my mixer which is near what I am pouring. THen work right off the tail gate. I tell the young bucks this is working smart not hard .

Frankly, I don't care about the changes in weights and measures or distance. I can lift or not, walk or not. But who the he** moved all the bathrooms so far apart?!

Lift gates are great...........except when they are wet.

Loaded up a blower this afternoon. I was not feeling too well in the first place. Loaded it up, walked to the end of the liftgate and both feet went out from under me. Duh........my boots were wet and the lift was wet and I'm an idiot.

I fell backwards, the two eng. gasped, luckily I have great reflexes and threw my arms back and caught myself before my back came down on the end of the liftgate.

Pulled my muscles from my tricep up to my neck in both arms.

Could have been worse, my spine could have met the end of the lift. Ahhhh.......popped a couple IB and deal with it. Maybe a couple more in an hour.
