Not really. The Richmond Tea Party is well aware of the problem. After the Chesterfield incident, I had a private and pointed conversation with them.
They are a very arrogant bunch, While I support the Tea Party movement, I have a zero tolerance policy concerning guns. There is no middle ground.

We have speakers that were in the DC March and scheduled for future TP Events. Regardless, I added this today.

I doubt I would have considered CCW if I had picked out the school parking lot. Just wouldn't have thought of it I don't think. I'll bet no one else was thinking about CCW when they put the plans together either.

Instead of taking a hard stance with them why not offer to meet with them and present a well thought out and civil discourse for future meetings? One that could include CCW as part of the overall planning? Taking a hard stance and alienating them places you and CCW overall in jeopardy of not being taken seriously. Just my thoughts.

Along the same lines that Rick posted with, and since they apparently made the offer to you for picking the next location - why not work with them. If you get involved, and you pick the location, you know it will be gun friendly. If not, then there is nobody to blame except you. Now - if the offer they made to you was not sincere, and they refuse to let you get involved and pick the next location - you may be on to something.

I'm not sure what there is to talk about. If they have their events in places that do not allow guns...my position stands.

Somethings going on today though. The traffic is so heavy, I had to pull the server offline..

The organizers probably just weren't really thinking of concealed carry when they picked the place, I doubt they are anti gun.

If you just brought it to their attention rather than immediately run off to write a nasty article about it, they would probably understand and take it into consideration next time.

Peter - you may not have been responding to my post. If not, my apologies in advance. Earlier you said:

His reply before he turned and snipped away…”Tell VCDL to pick the place next time”.

I am suggesting that you take him up on that offer. Bringing in more and more like minded folks will be a benefit for both groups.

I understand what you're saying Crash...and I agree. Frankly, I've been amazed by what the Tea Parties have done. Haven't had this much fun since the 60's.
They do have THEIR agenda though and that's taxes, not guns.

Now the problem is that in Virginia, if they lose the gun lobby, they've lost 60% of their support base and they know it.

I don't want to be the one to split the vote though. I've worked too hard to get EVERYONE on one playing field.

As it is, I caused a terrible stir and there were a lot of behind the scenes discussions...that of course I don't know about

I think the issue has been resolved now and I'm willing to let it die down and see how well they select the next location.

Oh, Crash, I was responding to Rick's post and Rick, CCW isn't the issue. Open carry i the only thing that concerns me. I really don't conceal. My goal is to have Virginia get away from the CHP 's all together. I want an Alakan style law. We don't need any kind of permit in Va to open carry and I like to remind people of that. It's getting so I see Open Carriers, everywhere I go now.
