    Default D@mn Guard Unit!!!

So I have been seperated from the Guard since April of this year. I did all my out-processing and stuff turned in my ID card but they say I didn't. Apparently they lost all my paperwork so they will not send me my DD 214 or any other paperwork showing my Service and seperation. I have been going back and forth with them for 4 months and still don't have my paperwork. So would anyone know if the VA would have access to this paperwork? Kind of important documentation to have I think.

The day I turned in all my paperwork they were doing training so I left it all there. That's what they told me to do, they assured me they would send me eveything. They did not.

I just went through the Personnel office online (forgot proper name). I will get you the website and phone number and post it shortly. They are great, you describe what you need, they look it up and email it to you. Excellent service. Check back here shortly and I will give it to you

It is the Virtual MPF (I can't find the web site). My local (Guard Unit MPF) gave me this number phone 800-525-0102. They are quick and very helpful. And like I said, they will scan and email what you need. To get an original DD 214 probably will have to be snail mailed. Hope this helps you. THe best part, is they are the official record site, so you should not have to deal with your unit.

Thanks Pal I'll give it a shot. I tried the MPF on the Active Duty Base but they were not helpfull at all. They kept reffering me to the Guard Base. I told them they were no help either....very frustrating. Almost got escorted out of the office. I said all I want are my d@mn records, they belong to me and I want them. What a cluster ****.

I am sure you will have good luck with them at that number. The only "kink" maybe that your final records are not there yet. But I think they at least are the repository of the records

I think you are talking about MilPerCen - Military Personnel (records) Center try searching for that. That is where I got my records from. They will let you download a signature request, you sign, send in, and they send you your records. Got my DD214 in about 3 weeks after requesting them.

@ Poco - it's got different names for each branch of the service. Navy calls it Personnel Support Detachment (PSD).

@ Doug - if you are able - when they find your paperwork - personally go in and photo copy your service record. Have the personnel people (whatever they're called in the Guard) give you multiple copies of your DD-214, all stamped ORIGINAL. Register one of those originals in the courthouse where you live, and every place you move. This way you will always be able to get one, should something happen to your copy.
