rebel - I can do plenty on a forge. The only thing I can't do is forge welding. Never tried it. I've made cutlery, fireplace tools, knives, a couple railroad spike tomahawks. Stuff like that. I'm still figuring the art of makeing a nice handle for knives, but i'm getting close.

i'd make you a nice knife too, if i where capable of doing such a thing in the first place.

now, if you ever need a bad knife i'm your man.

I just ordered this from knife kits.com Here's the specs.
This is an experimental design that we have a few production prototypes available for. We weren't even sure what to call it, but it will make someone a great project piece or a wonderful, low-cost learning aid. Made from AUS8 and has a pre-finished brass guard, you'll have the option to use (6) .120" or (2) .180 pins, bolts, etc. This model has a flat grind blade with a false edge. This is a large knife!

    Overall Length = 12"
    Blade Lenght = 7"
    Blade Width = 1.75"

Perfect match, coffin handle to blade. Great looking knife, almost too good looking to use as I do. I never saw a coffin handle that looked right except on a big Bowie and 7" isn't really that long. I still have my '60s K-Bar and Ek edge & 1/2 retired with full honors. I would be almost afraid to use that one also.

Oh yes it most certainly will be used!! I don't know when or where but use it I will. I only have 1 knife that is not a "user" it's just a "looker" That is my one off Dagger. That is the only on that isn't a user. I don't collect knives to look at. I'm more like a mechanic, several different wrenches all have a purpose and will be used accordingly. Sorry to disappoint anyone, just my philosophy.

I've got one drawn up that I've emailed to Rebel Chick. Once she makes the changes she wants, I'll pick up the steel and get to it. Pictures of progress of course.

Rebel chick, check out the knife nutz social group. There are a lot of pics there, one of them may be close to what you're looking for.
