Common sense, food, water, shelter and several ways to make fire.

Well said, Doug. What do you normally take on a weekend outing? That's what I would take, it's not that big of a deal.

Wow, now that is a vague question.

You can start by adding specifics. Where are you going? What are you doing? What are the expected temps? What is your goal? Solo or with company? Vehicle or on foot? How far on foot? What do you already have?

Me, I take something to keep me warm and comfy, something to eat, something to drink. I think doug already covered it.

Oh, I almost forgot. Bring an adult with you. Sometimes they come in handy.

Samfranklin - we've kind of been through this before with some of your other questions. Folks here truely want to be helpful, but you have to meet them halfway. Tell us how old you really are (you said 12 in another post), where you are going, climate, temperature range, what you normally bring, etc. If you truely want a meaningful answer - and I believe that you do since you have asked this question in different threads today - then you need to provide some information.

    Cool Hold it!

Your only 12? That explains the "over-dramatizing" by calling the "outdoors" the "Wilds!" Okay Sammy boy, here's the best advice you're gonna get from anybody on here: JOIN THE BOY SCOUTS! You need "hands-on" help here and you ain't gonna get all that much off of a computer monitor by a bunch of Americans waaaay across the ocean! The Scouts will teach you what you need to know & in the end you'll be glad that you went that route! They can look at your pack & give you experienced advice! That's all I've got for you!

He's their chief scout. Isn't that two titles? Are you generally one or the other?
