    Default Pull your pants up!

In line with the "Take that thing of your head!" thread, am I the only one here who wants to scream "PULL YOU PANTS UP!" at these kids who look like they're dragging a load around?

I have never said a thing to anyone about it. The other day I was in Wallyworld and this kid walked by. His pants were literally down to his knees. His entire rear was hanging out. He had the whole gangsta' thing going, fortunately he had a shirt that covered his butt. The entire get-up was comical, he even had to walk different just to keep it all together.

I would like to train to do a self defense move that consists of a quick stomp to the crotch of their pants. Not a groin kick, just a short, left foot hop/stomp that would take their pants to their ankles and end the fight.

The one really good thing about this style is that they cannot carry a weapon like that. My brother got into a foot pursuit with a guy once and the guy's pants came down. He said he timed it just right as the guy was picking himself up he bent forward to hike his pants up and my brother hit him hard.

Styles come and styles go but this one seems to be hanging on, pun intended, way too long. Mac

i'm actually reassured that so many hoods wear their pants so low. if i ever have to chase them, they'll have a hard time getting away.

how it ever became fashionable is beyond me.

I agree that they need to pull up the pants.

I gotta say I don't get the pants thing. They think they are cool??? or does it have some other significance that I missed.

The low rider britches was the best thing that ever happened to me as a "maturing " LEO. The D**b A**s constantly trip over them, and when it came to fisticuffs they were at a distinct disadvantage being able to use only one hand. Aaah the youth

it, and the general baggy clothes trend are said to have their roots in prison culture, where clothing issue was limited in sizing availability and belts where not allowed, though there is a lot of contention about the subject.

    Cool Well,since you asked....

A lot of the male college students that get on my bus wear their pants that way. I believe it has something to do with showing off the "name-brand" boxers they wear under their jeans. They call it "street wear." It's really funny to watch them try to climb the steps of my bus; they have to turn sideways to do it! A lot of the college girls say they think it's childish. Once I had a couple of drunk guys on my bus that had pulled their underwear down as well, or never bothered to put it on! Then they buckled their pants directly below their butt. They wore long-tailed shirts with the tails out and when they went to get off of my bus they started "mooning" the other students by lifting their shirt tails and bending over. One of them shot me a moon & I yelled out: "Hey, ya know what?" He stopped dead in his tracks & asked: "What." I said: I never noticed the family resemblance before, but yours looks like your moms...and it's turning me on!" The other students roared, the "mooners" turned a bright red, dropped their shirt tails & ran! Don't mess with a crusty old curmudgeon bus driver!

The bus is University property & what they did was "indecent exposure." Also, several of the University police also drive for my company & are sympathetic!

    doesn't stop a civil suit.

if the 90's taught us anything it's that anybody can sue anybody for any reason.

I have politely, and on occasion not so politely asked young men to pull their pants up. By far the best reaction I ever got was at the gym. A young man with droopy pants started to work out just in front of several of us (ranging in age from 50 to 80). I politely asked him why he wore his pants that way. His response was - "It's the thing to do. Do you have a problem with that?" I told him no, and proceeded to tell him this - The wearing of pants that way started in prison. That's why some call it gangsta. (He smiled, nodding as if to say "yeah, that's right") I continued. You see, in prison when a con wore his pants like that it sent a message to the other inmates that he was "available". At this point he looked a bit unfomfortable. I then said - my friend here (retired fireman - 6ft 6in tall) was wondering - are you? Poor kid tried for another twenty minutes to work out but finally quit, as it was difficult to lift weights and hold your pants up (darn near to his chest) at the same time.

So why is it only males.....? I would go to town more often if the trend was employed by females also..........

Shoes that light up when you run and pants that require one hand to hold up while you run. God must surely have an LEO background.
