Rick, I like your cake recipe....Here's one of my favorites:
    Beer Cake & Icing

    2 C. brown sugar
    1 C. butter
    2 eggs, beaten
    2 C. beer
    3 C. flour
    pinch of salt
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    2 tsp. soda
    2 tsp. allspice
    2 tsp. cinnamon
1 C. nuts, chopped (could be Stargazer's if he throws around too many of those "y'alls")
    2 C. dates, chopped

Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and beat well. Sift 2 1/2 cups flour, salt, soda and spices. Alternate dry ingredients and beer. Mix nuts and dates with remaining 1/2 cup flour. Flod into batter. Bake in slightly greased tube pan for 1 hour at 350 degrees/

    Icing:
1 8-oz. pkg. cream cheese, room temp.
    1/4 lb. butter, room temp.
    1 pb. powdered sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 C. chopped pecans

Blend cream cheese, butter and powdered sugar. Add vanilla and pecans. Put on cake while still warm.

Yep, Stargazer may be singing a different tune - or least in a higher octave.

Now that is something I've had in the past. Not sure if it was the same recipe or not, but it was great. Thanks for the recipe - it now goes into my "you really shouldn't open this if you're trying to lose weight" file.
