    Default introduction from indiana

    Your Approximate Age : 30's

    Your Gender: female

Your Geographic Location: small town indiana, USA

Your Occupation: 911 Dispatcher for fire, police and EMS (grave yard shift). I love my job. I'm darn good at it and it has taught me a lot, but wish I could be a stay at home mom and live more simply.

Your Prior Relevant Training: Emergency Medical Tech, HAM radio operator, Basic Storm spotter

The Nature of Your Prior Experience: not much, tent camping and cookig on open fire, pathetic I know

Your Level of Experience: wannabe novice

Your Preparedness Planning: pretty basic, food stores, water supply I need to be more prepaired

Your Interests and Hobbies: My family is my life. We love gardening, food storage and preserving/canning/drying, raising small animals. We also enjoy camping and fishing. We are homebody's.

Your Membership and Learning Objectives: I'd like to learn new skills so myself and my family can be somewhat prepaired (or at least delude ourselves into thinking we are) for a worst case scineairo sitiation. I have a lot to learn and I am glad I found this place.

Welcome home. Hoosiers rule!!! Nothing wrong with being a wannabe novice. Everyone has to start somewhere. Pull up a chair and starting reading. Use the search button at the top. If you have a question, chances are pretty good there is a thread (or many) on it. If you can't find the answer or the answer doesn't answer your specific question then ask away!!

Hello and welcome!! Hey if you can cook over an open fire I figure you have a pretty darn good start. You can learn the rest. There's also an official book thread you can check out. We were just up in Indiana this last weekend - Had a blast! I'm originally from a small town too.
Don't feel bad, my other half is just starting out too her username is Equus. I'm sure she will stop by in a little while, and say hi!

Unless you are a hunk of wood I don't think you have too much to worry about!!LOL I just sharpened her 'Hawk for her though, but she doesn't have anything to throw it at just yet. Poor Equus.... she's lost without her Target.
