    Cool Yo Poco..Go!

Poco, I would like to see the thread you should start with all that you have learned in the streets! There were many here who really got behind that & I think it was heartfelt, real, & really showed what the thread; "Basic Survival", was all about! If it were me I'd call it "Takin' it to the streets." Or even: "Basic Survival II. Many of us on here would love to read the things that you have learned. Looking forward to it man!

SARGE!!!! No joke that's embarassing Just kidding. I am blushing though. I will attempt to tackle the task you have set for me, But I must do it properly for it to be done right(didn't I just repeat myself?) Seriously (hard for me to do as I'm a joker/kidder) I have a lot on my plate this next week or so. Hey I just did my first blog(ever) and I don't even know how that is(or really what it is) To be honest it won't be short... I will probably do it on my PC and then Copy / Paste it here(can I do that?) There's a LOT about these computers I don't know about. Some of you could give me a two month class and I would still be in kindergarten compared to ya'll. For me most of the survival stuff I learned in the boy scouts, it's the street survival that would be difficult to do and keep it PG rating.
Honestly it will take a lot of thought.

It might be easier if you broke it down to an event thet happened to you how you reacted and then lessons learned. Just a thought.
    I know what hunts you.

I would like for you to start at the beginning. Not necessarily why you were there but what were your feelings when you realized you were there. We talk a lot about survival but none of us can practice the mental and physical realization that you are in that situation unless you are actually in that situation. So understanding how you felt when you first realized you were going on the streets would be a key insight for me into understanding what I might be thinking and feeling if my life were suddenly disrupted. At least then I'd know the feeling/thinking was okay or at least what to expect.

That is a story all in itself and probably not suitable for a forum like this. Let's see how good your imagination is. It involved my wife(then) her boyfriend ,me from another state, living in her parents property. LEO's show up guess who leaves, no choice, legal issues etc. That about sums it up. If you have a fairly decent imagination you will probably fill in the blanks and not be to far off the mark. Had a chance to be on the "Springer show" but she turned it down. Woulda' been a good show though, I would've watched it if I weren't involved.

That could've been me. A busted job, money problems leading to divorce. Thank goodness for me I had a helpful family that provided a job and a place to stay. I wouldn't want to repeat any of that. You never know how things will turn out. However, if you think things are bad just look around. Someone has it worse.

Poco, I'm sure that whatever you share with us regarding your experiences will be well worth reading.

You present yourself as a very honest and sincere guy. I'm sure that we can learn a great deal from you.

    Thank you, Poco.

Agree with everyone else, you really should write a book on your experiences. Looking forward to reading anything you care to share.

Well Ken, I don't care what anyone says ...HONESTY is the best policy. Some may have Noticed that I'm on here a lot. Well truth is I lost my job due to MY doing something stupid at work. My unemployment benefits were denied as a result, but I appealed. When I had my hearing I told the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth ... Believe it or not it worked!!! The referee decided that even though I had done something stupid, and admitted it, my employer had slightly exaggerated the circumstances AND that I shouldn't have been fired in the first place!! So I get my benefits anyway. Now rumor has it (and that's all it is, is RUMOR) that the supervisor responsible may be in a little trouble himself because of this, and it was overheard that they may EVEN offer me my job back! We'll see. I'm not counting on it though.

Darn straight it is. Either tell the truth or say nothing. Anything else will ALWAYS catch up with you.
