I was born with nothing,
with hard work and deligence I still have most of it
this week a lot less...must be a hole in my pocket
Hope,
So what does the 115gr fmj have over the 120 - 140 grain 6.5 projectiles?
I know what hunts you.
I'd take an Rem 700 then set up on the edge of town. You give me a rifle I won't be banished for long. Mac
The Colhane Channel TV for guys like me.
I'm getting some good feed back on this and the 10/22 leads by head and shoulders but the banishment scenario was not meant to be personal but more of a "Red Dawn" aspect?
If that's what we're talking about, I'll take my Springfield SOCOM II.

Where I live, I would take my Marlin .22 mag bolt tube fed. Almost the same amount of ammo to carry, but with a lot harder hit. People use it alot in the rimfire season.
Hey! you said banished...... as in kicked outta Dodge, living off the land, not the world is out to get me and I have to get them first. Big difference there!
I know what hunts you.
This thread just crossed over into "Numpty land!" I'm outta here!![]()

Std. 10/22. Easy cleaning and I could carry much ammo on my back. LOL!
So the .22 is it then all say I. If you are invaded and forced to stay to get your cheeze grated or get the chance to dine and dash -what do you do? Thats the glory of net forums, it gives most the chance to feel like men if only for a few seconds!!! Grind'em up & Spit'em out thats the stories I like best(;{o)
Sort of depends on the circumstances. If it's just me then I dine and dash. No point in getting stomped on for no good reason. If it's me and friends or family, especially if they can't dash, then you just pick your poison and grate some cheese on it. Stay.

Take my 10/22 and maybe pick up something heavier from someone who won't need it.
Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he's too old
to fight... he'll just kill you.
I was going to say my trusty 10/22 but I`m thinking if I`m banished from all places civilized, but am not being hunted by them then I'd want something lighter and smaller to make my travels easier... Probably a .22LR / .22MAG revolver (with boy cylinders). Could carry a TON more ammo if civilization won't give me more since I'm banished, and it will be a LOT lighter to carry, and I can still bring in food for meals.
If I'm banished but on wheels, or can still get stuff from society... then probably an 870 with ammo on it, and a sling + whatever else I can carry. Slugs, Birdshot, 00, and #4. Should be good.

If it was one that I own, I would probably say my Savage 24V in 30/30 over 20ga. If I really wanted to cheat, I would throw in my 32acp adapter for the 30/30.
Although my 10/22 would be tempting to take instead.

22 cal rifle for me too. A well placed 22 is just as good as anything else in most situations.

endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in
a spirit of brotherhood.
Flip a coin. 10/22 or .223 AR15. I have good reasons for either. If I was relagated to just one pistol It would be a Ruger Single Six with both LR and Mag ammo or a 4" .357 revolver with both 38 special and Mag ammo.
