Hi im new

Hey, i guess i need to give an intro, well here it is.
Im from California and I have just recently become intrestead in Wilderness Survival by my new facination of american special forces. I am seriously thinkin of joinin the rangers in a few years (im 15). I thought it would be good if me as a city slicker would study up. I know nothin about wilderness survival realy so any good info will be much appreciated.

Hey Proud, Welcome to the Forums. The study of any discipline is a life long quest if you really want to become proficient at it. I'm a little older than 15....okay, a lot older, and I learn (and try to learn) something everyday. You're off to a great start and this is a good place to begin your education. There are some really proficient individuals on here that know how to live off of the land. Many former and some current military as well as other outdoor professionals and some who truly live off the grid. There are some great threads on here, too, so take some time to read through them. If you have any questions at all, don't be afraid to ask. As they say, the only stupid question is the one that was never asked. And if you don't know, you can bet others don't either. As I said, welcome.

Many young people prepare years in advance for college.Its nice to see someone such as yourself preparing in advance for service within the spec. ops. community.
When I was a young kid,and found myself out of ammo,I would walk to the country general store to buy more BB's.In the candy section they sold a plastic paratrooper attached to a stick of gum.I knew then, exactly what I wanted to do when I grew up.

Welcome young brother I love seeing your generation intrested in things other then video games and skateboards and you have a noble and worthy ambition as a former Ranger myself it makes me proud to see the youth wanting to serve our country I do not know what the requierments are now days but I am sure it is still not just a sign up MOS if I could offer you one piece of advice besides the obvious it would be to become involed in the spote program in your school;, for me the one that helped the most was wresteling, not only for the disapline but the conditioning and of course pay attention to the older wofes here you will learn a lot that can help you in what ever path you pursue in life. Just my 2 cents

Still 9 weeks of no sleep and hard work. Wrestlin is good helps with the hand to hand combat part.Also my friend wants to be a UFC guy(sort of lame I know) so hes learnin alot about martial arts and wrestlin. Maybe ill learn some Graci Jiu Jitsu wich is what the rangers Learn. Hopin to get the ranger Manuel for Christmas.
