Jagjj, earlier you asked if we consider you properly educated for this idea. I am slightly concerned about that. Two words: Capital letters!!! Boy can't even write properly and is thinking on playing with his life... I am not native English speaker and still I consider my English and writing in general much better than yours. Now aren't you being just a wee bit nitpicky? You don't need to know how to type or write to survive in the woods. I believe the kid has some experience. He's not perfect, but neither are the rest of us. I think he is off to a good start and wish him luck.

im going to survive in northwest indiana im 14 im experienced in survival i have a buck knife (113) 3 multitools including pocketplyers and a hatchet plus an axe even fishing supplys i have a survival am experienced in making fire with bow and drill and also friction boards i know about heat reflection i know how to make 42 diffirent shelters i have an extensive knowlage of edible plants and im experianced hunter/trapper/fisherman/survivalist i am strong (bench 300) and know MANY basic survival skills including how to purify water and i will have a cell phone/gps and radio for emergancys and my father will check on me once a day does everyone think i can do it?

yes it is jst very time consuming and not all of them have names seeing that i built and tested some myself includeing some like hollowing out a live tree and an A-Frame and a pit shelter plus some cave shelters

EDIT: and yes im TOTALLY serious i love survival its jst something about me i watch all the shows (but Survivorman and Man vs Wild are a little staged) and i have some experiance seeing me my dad and my grandfather were stranded in canada for 1 week and a half longer then we had intended sooooo i learned ALOT and iv been thinking about testing myself like this for some time now

srry bout the typoes im not proofing and i study this cause i love doing it and i was inspired by the book hatchet at age 3 soo iv been doing this since 5 when i could read myself

I've read the book & have the movie; it's "ok", but remember that the kid in the story did NOT go out to INTENTIONALLY put himself in danger, & it was a work of fiction with a writer keeping his character safe. You need to study real life survival stories & get a "reality check" dude!

ANSWER: NO! According to your title under your screen name you're trying to come off as an expert at 14, that is if your not just yanking our chain! If you're not putting us on then your very immature & unwise. "Survival Experts" do not come on here and ask for "tips", they give tips! You're also arguing with members that are much more equipped & have much more knowledge than you! That's just plain stupid!

ok and im gonna sort of alter my forum i need a list of gear like rations cooking utensils (i dont think i need them) or fire tools
