    Default Florida Illegals

Just read about a 2yr old girl being strangled by a "pet" python. I wonder who is in charge of the snake pit? I have an old friend in Jacksonville and one in the panhandle and they can't tell me. We know how they got there, now how about a bounty on imports or if it's too late for the varmints, I think you folks need a bounty on the people who keep, raise or otherwise turn the "cute" things loose when they get big and scary. At least they could be turned into boots or something useful. I don't live there, seldom visit but I get POed at the idiots who can't think straight.

Yep, those people who who keep, raise or otherwise turn the "cute" things loose when they get big and scary could be turned into boots or something useful. I agree, Coot.

I posted about this on another forum (python related). I've kept snakes for many years and bred several spieces of pythons. I don't think anyone should have them if they don't know how to properly care for them.

The mother's boyfriend was the owner and did not have the proper permits to own it or the 6' boa that he had. On top of that, when the deputies exicuted the search warrent, they found drugs in the house.

Glad you clarified that. Other snake forums are okay.

OK, have at it and don't be bashful. I know I resemble that remark. Just remember when you and that 12' python fight over who the mouse belongs to just remember you get paid for mice and put up a decent fight and make us proud.

I had heart palpitations when I first started reading but "python forums", yeah, I guess those could exist.

It's a sad situation. I worked with a guy that had an Alaskan Huskie. The dog had a baby doll that it played with as a toy. His son brought their newborn over for Grandpa and Grandma to babysit and Grandma laid the baby on the bed and went into the bathroom for a second. The Huskie jumped on the bed, grabbed the baby and shook her to death. The poor dog didn't know. It was just playing with a "toy". Sometimes our choices in life have tragic consequences even when we don't mean for them too.
