i think its fine as long as the bait was naturally there. and poachers arnt a problem this far south but up north (above lake winnipeg and lake manitoba) they are running honest trappers out of business. if you see a poacher and he isnt wearing orange you could always have a hunting 'accident' thoes are common enough.

Poachers are a problem here too, they hunt illeagally with high powered rifles shooting at anything in the forests.
There is no greater solitude than that of the Tracker in the forest, unless perhaps it's that of the wolf in the wilderness.

but their mama's do have big hairy arses, so, you know, probably won't upset the bear that much.

Beo, I had a wolf walk right up to the window when I was stopped on a highway up north one time, it was F******* awesome, he just stared me in the face for about five minutes (I did NOT open the window, lol) then he sat down in front of the car and howled, nice long and sweet.

Personally, I've said before I'll only hunt what I'm going to eat, I don't eat bear, what other people do is their business.
some fella confronted me the other day and asked "What's your problem?" So I told him, "I don't have a problem I am a problem"

Had thought of getting a wolf/shepherd mix but got a yellow lab instead.

Hey LadyTrapper, nice pics. You have the right to be proud. Here's one on my last hunt. Nice 6 pointer.

Did he put up much of a struggle when you tried cooking him?

You have to wait 'till they get real close like that then yell, "BOO!". They usually faint. Works well on bear too, unless you get one that's hard of hearing. Then you have a fight on your hands. Come to think of it, most bear seem to be hard of hearing. Just forget the bear part.

    LOL @ Rick
But I always heard that when you get that close to a bear, you just stick your hand down its throut, turn him inside out so he is going the other way.

Oh, man. I love it. That's great. Can I use it? Never mind, I will anyway. No point in asking. Those were great pictures by the way.
