    Default Folders For Survival

Figured I'd start this one also.
I know most of us carry folders as well as fixed blades. Feel free to jump in with your reccomendations.

I was just given a large Benchmade RSK that I would have no problem carrying in a survival situation. I often carry a Zebu slipjoint in addition to my machete, they are a very solid knife. Mac

I've got a C.S. Pocket Bushman. It's the strongest folder I've ever used. Might as well be a fixed blade.

Mac, wish someone would give me one of those.

    I'd rather have a XM-18...

Hmmm, now let me think....an XM-18 & get evicted for non-payment of rent, or keep a roof over my families head? Crap! Decisions! Decisions! Sorry G.W., I'm sure it's a fine knife & all, but I'll just keep my cheap folder in my pocket & out from under the wheels of my car! (Couldn't resit dude.)

I carry a Victorinox Hunter model as well as a couple of Gerber ultralite folders.

My work carry is one of these. A gerber torch II I found at dicks for around 30 on sale.

This makes its way into my work gear bag. It is a leatherman kick. Not all the bells and whistles some leathermans have but more than enough to gett me by.

I have a custom Benchmade Apparition designed by Pardue / Osborne, that eventually became a production knife (I have one of the originals). http://www.benchmade.com/products/pr...aspx?model=670Darn thing is a very tough assisted opening folder. I carried it every day, while I was in the AF. I used to carry it around here, but the sheeple at school started getting nervous. It would be my first choice of my folders for survival.
Now my everyday carry is a Toollogic SLPro2. http//www.toollogic.com/slpoutdoor.htm I kind of nice having a light, whistle, and firestarter on the knife. Fairly well built little bugger also. Metal body, with a liner lock and no flex. I figured it would be gimmicky, but it is a very useful everyday tool (with a few extras, in case).
I also carry an original Swisstool when I am at my workstudy "job". It has served me well for many years. Anything that say right in the instructions to "hit the tool with a hammer" to use the chisel, (and I have) is pretty tough.

I carried a Case stockman when I was a kid until about 17. That knife did everything I needed. If I thought it was needed I took a hatchet or axe. Now I carry a SAK and a SOG Flash II assisted opener. I use the SAK for everyday use and the other to kinda supplement my carry 45 or walking stick. I still don't baton, maybe with my old Ontario machete with the changes made in sharpening suggested by PICT I find I use it much more now.

    Cool Victorinox meets Rambo!

    Check this one out!

Personally I think they should have also included the magnifying glass, but then that's just me.

    Cool My folders...

Among several models of the Victorinox I have an older model of this one that rides around with me most of the time:

    http://www.swissarmy.com/MultiTools/...product=54854&

I also carry an older Vic/Swiss Army Multi-Tool.

At times I might add the Buck Whitaker Lumina &/or the Buck Multi-tool.

While I like the idea of that I already carry a center punch (cost 12 bucks) and we have fire do all the heavy extrication (cutting windshields, tearing cars apart, etc) Don't get me wrong I would love to get one. I just can't justify spending money on it till my punch stops working. So if you are driving in detroit and you see an ambulance chuck out a center punch, come her that week and I will post a pic of my new knife lol.
