    Default Binder Clips

So, here I am doing some paperwork while I'm clicking away on the Forum, and as I pull out a stack of papers from a file folder it dawns on me..... Binder Clips.

Lightweight, strong, multi-use, and they come in several sizes..

I did a Forum search and the only place I saw them mentioned was here: http://www.wilderness-survival.net/f...ht=binder+clip

And so I'm thinking that having a few in my pack may not be a bad idea..........

They wouldn't work for long. Only briefly.

Use them for setting up tarp shelters. Fold the bottoms to create a box and clip in place to keep mud out during a storm.

That dress was made by a friend and went to Burningman. Here's another photo of it with my youngest son.

I use Binder clips for all types of things and they are tough. In particular I use them as tarp clamps. The big ones for heavy apps like a vinyl or poly tarp, and smaller ones over paracord for sidewalls and sheets, Etc. They work well for clamping veneer when glueing up too. And last but least, to close the windscreen on my stove.

I've had a few in my Last Aid / Repair kit for some time now. Wish they came in a brighter color.

They are known to rust, BTW. I guess they didn't figure wet environments when designing them.

Cool Well, since you brought it up...

I've carried binder clips in my pack for many years now, figured they be good for using with a "tube tent" to keep it from sliding together as well as a "clothes-pin substitute." I guess it takes ideas a while to get from the mid-West to the East coast. Just sayin'.
