I tried the larger breeds and settled for an "attack" beagle. Dog food & cats are #1 on his list. He is usually disguised as a footstool or a rug. He doesn't bark at much, lays on the patio and watches deer, turkey, squirrel & rabbits go by but cats are another story. He has never barked at anyone or tried to bite, hates heat, cold & rain and will refuse to go outside if it isn't perfect.
Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he's too old
to fight... he'll just kill you.

    That's a nice pack bro.

I gave up my little rat when I started working extra hours, and no one would take her out to use the toilet, then get pissed that she went in the house, found a nice family with energetic kids, she fit in nicely there.

Now there is only the pomeranian, nice house dog,but not quite cut out for the woods with all that hair, gave her the lion cut again, but still have the burr attracing facial and tail hair.

Currently at my feet is "Champ", beagle/border collie mix. Little longer in the leg but looks like a regular beagle. Very fast, would've made the great foxhound my dad wanted but that was 10 years ago. My son's dog before he shipped to Germany. Don't listen any better than my kids, but we've been discussing the issue....

RWB - That looks like a classic De Nero moment. "Are you looking at me?"

I can attest to the fact that Avery is one smart pooch. Sits in the air conditioned jeep until camp is set up.

    We have three dogs.

Harley - half Boxer half min. Daschund - yeh, believe it. Meanest little bastard around, he's about 8 years old and getting fat. He is Alien on four legs, and would take on a Grizzly bear if needed. But then Daschunds are bred to go down badger holes. He's earned a bit of respect.

Jessica aka Jessicaca aka Jessica NO, aka Jessy, aka Cougar - she is a Rotty/Lab mix with more Rotty. She is 11 years old, already had one leg surgery and looks like she needs another. Jessy is the Alpha Dog. She has accompanied me in the woods many times and in her younger days would drag me through briers on her quest for hogs. Alot like myself. She is just a big dog that thinks she's a lapdog. Cougar comes from - well it has to do with the next dog.

Now for Jessica's boyfriend, they are inseperatable. Well, until Jessica wants to eat then Bonehead takes a backseat and waits his turn.

Snowflake aka Bonehead aka As shole aka any other name that I choose to yell at the time of disaster. He is a two year old MUTT. Wife calls me up, dog is ready to be taken to the pound to be put down, please, I agree. Darn dog had been abused and hates men, bas tard bit me good once, that's fine as it happens. Wait a minute..............just put his nightly bark collar on. Freak'n dog barks at everything, then Harley starts his high pitch barking then Jessica starts and you can hear them in Alabama.

It may sound like I hate the dog, well, I don't. He will be a good dog oneday.....oneday.

Best dog I ever had and I've had many was Ashley or Lady Ashley Blue. She was a Blue Chow, best woods dog, condo dog, deer tracker, rabbit hunter, kids play toy, and best friend. She died back in 2002, she had me for 14 plus years. She would bite me on the arse when she wanted to play, that hurt. She was a 100% Beotch and smart as a whip. I know I should not judge other dogs by her as she was a once in a lifetime dog.
