ADBA registered blue pit bull. He's 8 months old and around 60lbs. He's a big baby but to just look at him, you'd never know.
Fedx came to deliver something when I was at work. He threw the package to my girlfriend, he wouldn't even get within 10 feet of the door. Just what I wanted for when I'm on nights. He's not fully trained yet, but just seeing him will make stupid people go the other way.
My girlfriend has a beagle mix, she's the one to worry about.

Certainly not for everyone, he requires a lot of space for running if you want to keep the homestead in one piece.
*drool* Yeah, me and the dog. I love mastiff's. Have you taught him to carry a rag around yet?
If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.

The only rags this ox carries around are the ones I am in. Still trying to get him to know I am the boss (have the same problem with my wife of 31 years ). He is my first mastiff, so is trail and error right now, but he responds quickly to basic voice commands and has taken ownership of the homestead and the "munchkins" associated with it. Some guys get a corvette for their mid life "crisis", mine is this big brute.

I think your problem is that both your wife and dog know who the boss really is *giggles*

Mmm,, maybe you are right. But since she is at work, 30 miles away, I will assert my stance that ,,,,mm never mind, she can read "really really good". As for the "brute" I think we will come to some sort of reasonable accommodation soon

Maybe you need a bigger hammer.

I think my wife would take offense to me trying that tactic The dog on the other hand would probably care less

I wondered how long it would take.
I meant women in general, not any here. I know when Nell sees that post, she's gonna want to smack me in the head.

Mine is a dog i got from a local native guys wood shed. He was about 8-10 weeks old, dirty, malnourished and had the worst case of runs ever. He had the demeanor of a 18 yr old dog not a puppy.

Two months later he is the best dog I have ever owned. Smart and obedient. He is part husky, wolf, maybe border collie, shepphard and who knows what else.

I have a yellow lab and shepherd mix named Sunny, she's my girl goes everywhere with me got her from a rescue shelter.
Also got a full blood AKC registered Yellow Lab named Buster, I call him Tater since he got into the potatoe bin and ate every last tater in there one day, he paid for it though. personally the AKC part to any dog doesn't matter to me, the dog has to fit the owner for the right match up. Once that is done I think its a life long bond.
