Default Where Can I Find the BEST Job?

Because a job often defines who we are to a certain degree and certainly provides security I thought I would post some web sites to help you in an uncertain job market.

The following federal web site looks at all occupations and establishes projections as to whether the job will grow or decline. It lists average annual salaries that you can expect as will as the qualifications. For example, Police Officers and Detectives are expected to increase by 97,000 between 2006 and 2016 with average annual salaries for a police corporal are expected to be between $44,160 and $55,183.

If you are just starting out or looking to make a change, this is a good place to start.

Want to know if you are being paid a comparative salary? Try these web sites:

    www.salary.com – Know what your’re worth
www.payscale.com – Complete a survey to find out where you stand
www.glassdoor.com – Browse anonymous campany reviews and employee ratings.

Networking is the number one way to find a new job. Expand your network with:

www.linkedin.com – Join and ulumni group or check out the profile of individuals.
www.plaxo.com – It has a networking feature and can send you weekly updates.
www.brightfuse.com – It has a built in job bank.
www.nig.com – Link up with people that share your interests.
www.facebook.com - More than 100 companies, including Microsoft and J.P.Morgan, recruit candidates on Facebook.

Good info, good List. I'm on Dice and Linkedin already. Linked in is great to keep in touch with those co-workers you don't really talk to otherwise.

Good info. I took a bit different route. Find something you enjoy doing and then get others to pay you to do it. Starting a small business is challenging, but extremely rewarding.

So you had a passion for killing bugs before you started your business?

I do too. Look, there's a roach! *smack*

Personally, and this is just my opinion, I think he's a disgruntled assassin trying to make the big time...one bug at a time.

Why do I get the feeling that's not really all that far off the mark?

It's all about creating a persona and the perception that others have about you. Do it correctly and others will fear you. They will tremble when you walk into a room. Insects, being acutely sensative will pick up on this immediately. Fear I say, create the persona of fear..........what's that? Take out the trash?.....and then the dishes? But of course pumpkin.

See it works - now if only I could do it like she does.
