that was a great link Rick
some fella confronted me the other day and asked "What's your problem?" So I told him, "I don't have a problem I am a problem"
I had a REKAT folder that had a blade similar in shape. I gave it to a friend for a skinning knife. He brags on that style of blade every time we hunt together. I'd love to find a fixed blade version that is affordable.
Well why not?
Good link, and timely. I'm on my first attempt at making one.
I posted on a homemade forge about a week ago. It sure looked like he was using the same one to make that knife.

yeah, once again I'm going to have to overcome my apparently inherent and incipient laziness and make a forge this summer. I've got a pretty good bit of steel around that I want to try knife making with.

For my first one I'm going to cheat. When I get the drawing to where I like it I'll take it to a metal fabrication shop and have them cut out a couple of blanks for me. I did buy a couple of carbon steel blanks a while back, time for my own design.
Hey Crash, if you build one, might as well build another for me to trade ya out of.....
Well why not?
Cast your calculating eyes on a knife post somewhere. I like that blade and think I posted pictures of maybe three I made. I still have a dozen blades drilled, tempered and waiting for me to lose the three I have somewhere and some I polish and some I don't.
Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he's too old
to fight... he'll just kill you.
That's a sad story Coot. Just thinkin of them blades..... laying up somewhere, waiting for the day they get to finally graduate into the trusty companion they were destined to be, it breaks my heart. It really makes the humanitarian side of me come out. I'd adopt one of them blades, given the chance. Just to see one of em reach maturity. All out of the kindness of my heart and all.![]()
Well why not?
I'm pretty certain he's using them to look for his pistol. It's still AWOL you know.

Missed that thread. Got the link?
Well why not?
You talking about that jamboree? Cause I had plans on making some hawks to take up there.
Well why not?
Yep. If a date is picked, I'll make plans for a road trip.
Got it....
Here is the infamous post on the lost .22:

Note that it was not me that brought up the lost pistol (still a little gun shy from the last time)![]()
Oh, I posted that to show what a great knife he made. Did I mention the pistol? Sorry.
