soooo, Big Brother really is watching, and listening, and compiling lists. No surprise. Found that one piece interesting "better not fly your flag upside down" Anyone with a military background want to discuss that one? Might be time for everyone to start flying their flags upside down.

I really really really avoid getting political but your last President said that questioning the government was un-American. When I think about America and what America stands for, I think not questioning your government is un-American.

    Thanks for sharing that Sarge.

Does anyone else find it kind of funny, that in releasing their list of what makes someone a potential terrorist, there is going to be a big majority of people that are going to start questioning the government and begin to fall into that group. So if you really want to look at this over a long time period, they're actually creating terrorists. What I mean is... someone reading this stuff, could start wondering where this info came from, so yes big brother is watching, then they see just how messed up things are getting and start reading up/practicing survival skills, then in order to change things they start expressing their beliefs... so now a normal guy is ending up in the terrorist category because they're questioning the government, believing conspiracy theories, practicing survivalist, and are an activist because they're expressing their beliefs.

wow... and then technically... by posting this, and expressing my views, while reading survival forums, and questioning the government.... I guess I'll brew some coffee for them so when they break down my door I can still be civilized and offer them a drink. :P

Very much so. I love my country, but the government is made up of people like me with less moral fiber (which says a lot). How can you not question their decisions? How can you stand idly by watch them slowly strip freedoms away from citizens based on the actions of criminals?

I am one of those that can be very vocal about something I believe in. I make a lot of bad decisions based on principal and could give a damn about the consequences. I'll stand toe to toe with anyone and say were I born 30 years earlier, I would have moved to Ireland and been singing "Yoho, I'm a provo...".

    Now?

Hell no. It's just criminal splinter cells tagging on the legacy of freedom fighters. Does this make me a terrorist? Yeah, probably in the eyes of some of the Homeland Security (why not just call it Fatherland? ) extremists, but what about them? Doesn't holding an extreme view on the opposite end of the spectrum and then using gestapo style tactics make them as much of a terrorist if not more so than some of the splinter cells? I mean, hell, at least half of the "terrorist" organizations they talk about only engage in conflict with F.A.G.(Foreign Army Guerilla)'s or the opposing government. When it IS the government you are talking about using terrorist tactics, who points the finger? Who holds them accountable.? Obviously not us, as that would be un-American.

If that's the case, call me a canuck.

First, let me just say, "I LOVE AMERICA. I SUPPORT AMERICA. I WOULD NEVER COMMIT A CRIMINAL OR SUBVERSIVE ACT.

That out of the way, you just have to go with your conscience, don't you? I'll bet I can name a few guys that would make the top of those lists by their posts. Thomas Jefferson, John and Samual Adams, John Hancock, Benjamin Rush, Richard Henry Lee, et. al....

    Cool Well now...

Good thing Bragg was a Canuk, huh? This info was NOT supposed to be made public but some cop leaked it. "To protect & Serve!" Way to go officer! MICA has "alledgedly" (is that the right word Ken?) backed down on this, but who knows.

Glen Beck and others gave it quite a bit of publicity, so at least publicly they're saying that they are no longer going to do this.

On May 26, 2008, Sarge started the thread "Well now..." and I posted (post #16) this:

"Sarge, right after I joined, I did a post (looked back but can't find it) and I got into a bit of a rant about things. Even asked the members if they thought this site is monitored. I do.

Our privacy rights have gone down the toilet in the past several years. Many people at first welcome goverment (and private) infringement on our privacy:

"Oh, roadblocks are a good idea. They catch drunken drivers."

"I feel sooo much safer when they check backpacks at the subway turnstiles."

"Okay, just have to file this FA-10. Please sign here."

"Gee, these supermarket/pharmacy/you name it customer cards are great because they are so much more convenient than cutting coupons."

"Oh, look! Take a coupon from that little dispenser under the product. We'll save 50 cents." (Pulls coupon, little camera in dispenser takes picture of customer.)

"Love my speedpass. I hate stopping at toll booths."

"Everyone ARRESTED for anything (not anyone convicted of a MAJOR FELONY) should have to to give a DNA sample!"

"Give the all the police laptops in their cars. Nothing like running random registration checks (cross referencing licenses) on every car on the road."

"We need more security cameras. Everywhere."

    "Cellphone GPS sure is great!"

"The government SHOULD monitor web activity. How else are we going to catch terrorists and child molesters?"

Privacy no longer can mean anonymity, says Donald Kerr, the principal deputy director of national intelligence. Instead, it should mean that government and businesses properly safeguard people’s private communications and financial information.

Guess what? Whether or not we like it, we no longer have ANY privacy in our lives. After all, we LIKE IT that way, don't we?"

In many ways, 1984 arrived about 20 years later than Orwell predicted it.

Information is the greatest source of raw power on the face of the Earth. Every government on Earth will accumulate as much power as possible. And elements of every government on Earth will abuse that power in every possible.

Hehe. That's why I got out of the army after getting the training I wanted (well, about half of it. After blowing out a knee of a 25 mile ruck I wasn't highspeed enough for the Q course anymore) and went into Network Security. Today's battles can be won or lost before the first troop puts boots on the ground. Automated drones, black market intel gleaned from sliding through your opponents servers, ddos attacks on utility companies, there's no end to what can be done.

I was rolling on the floor the other day reading a press release from the Chinese government. They stated that 90% of the attacks that originate from China are actually US or Russian hackers using their systems to piggy back through because of their lapse security policies, and because they know that it will look like a political based electronic attack if it comes from China.

I'll let you form your own opinion on that, but I will say that when and if I have need of piggy backing through someone elses servers, it's not china. There are other more easily obtained drones to use than theirs, and if you KNOW your security is so inadequate, why broadcast it to the world via press conference, instead of doing something about it?

    *sigh*
    /end rant

You forgot my hero... the father of the American Revolution, Thomas Paine.
When is America no longer America? Is a criminal act or a subversive one if you are defending the principals of the Constitution against those who would subjugate you and destroy that same Constitution?
Now to answer the question... would I.....Push me far enough and you will get the answer. Push the people of this country far enough and the terrorists of the world will fear and respect us.
    I know what hunts you.

If you don't think this site is being monitored, you are nieve. It's a "survival" site and is def. being watched.

But, this in my opinion is just a very small thing. If they want info. on you, it's all over the place. Many who fear the direction of the US right now are out purchasing military style weapons, from dealers. Duhhhh..........like the paperwork you fill out just goes into the trash when you leave.

Ammo, I see sales on bulk ammo all over the place. Duhhhh.........when you purchase it, there is a paper trail. I also betcha you use your credit card to buy it. Duhhhhhh.......

Now I'm not much of a gun man. Yes I have my hunting weapons, deer rifle and a shotgun for ducks. Never saw much use for the military style weapons, but I do have a file with the GBI for a CCW permit. Duhhhhh..........more info on me.

Many fear that the gov. will be knocking on your door to collect your guns. That is what the NRA says and may very well be the situation. The problem, you are either going to give up the guns or end up dead.

Now in my younger days, BF, before family, oh hell yeh, bring it on. Nowdays, with a wife and two little ones....it's not about me, but their safety. They can take all the guns, but they can not take the knowledge.

The knowledge of how to survive.

This is a scary time, the future is wide open. There are many who want to ban guns, all guns, hunting and feel that "they" are better skilled at how to live "my" life. They want to "give me fish, rather than allow me to fish".

The big problem is, as some of those articles presented, many, many Americans are not buying what the US Gov. is serving. They can try force and it will be another Civil War. But this time, there are countries and powers who will at the first sign of our weakness, conquer and destroy us.
