so my tv passed away last night after 7 years of faithful sevice, the ol boy finally succumed due to neglect

how long till the wife amkes me buy a new one?

Now that's a loaded question.
In my house it would be a no win situation. If I waited to find out, it would be because I have no initiative.
If I go get one immediately, I'd be impulse shopping.
No matter what i would bring home it would not have all the right features and I would have spent way too much.
But if asked what she wanted she'd say "What ever you get will be fine".

just for a day or two and woke to the inspirational soundz-uh of some tv preacher promising me that Henry Kissinger is the devil or something (no argument on my part) and him and those bubbleburgers have brought about the end of days, but he (the preacher) has all the answers so that me and the WonderMutt (yep, he promised) can get into heaven. It was time for me to go find the coffee! This is not my anti-religion rant, this is.....one less tv in the world? Counting my blessings...there's a reason I don't hook mine up to any kind of media receiver besides the movie machine.

sounds like we are married to the same woman, she told me to go get one so of course i buy the 700 dollar flat screen 32" rca, then she says its not like her old one or that she has not heard good things about rca, did i ask for help when buying it, yada yada yada.

I feel your pain. I have come to the conclusion that i will never, ever understand women in general. The absolute best I can hope for is to learn by trial and error what ticks mine off and not repeat it. These last 12 years of trials and many, many errors have been a truly wonderful experience. Maybe someday when tv's have been replaced with 3d holographic projectors I'll have figured out what kind she wanted back then. 50 years too late.
