    Default Optics...Military....Law Enforcement....????

    Halographic.....Red Dot.....Trijicon......etc.

I don't like depending on optics that are battery powered, like the red dot systems. I seem to fall back to the reliability of low powered scopes or even Ghost Ring systems.

Anything new optics out for a SBR or SBS......? Or a good site or on-line article.

Hope - haven't tried it, but this looks like it's in the realm of what you're looking for. http://www.opticsplanet.net/trijicon-rifle-scopes.html

For my 2 cents worth, the Red Dot is hard to beat. Never had a battery issue with it, as in they are long lasting in my experience. Like most things though boilsdown to your preference. Have not had much experience with any of the "newer" stuff.

Only had one handgun scoped, a Ruger MK I with a 4X, only used it to shoot squirrels in the left eye angled away from the hindparts to save meat. I like fixed power and I also don't go for high magnification. Most folks seem to buy a 3X9 and leave it cranked on 9, why I don't know.
