    Default Tomahawk

This is a neat little head I found at a yard sale,$5.00. Cleaned it up and made a handle for it, Its about 6 inches across, cutting part about an inch and a half. Has no markings mabey someone here knows something about it?

forgive me if i'm mistaken but that is a dead ringer for an ice axe i used to have. not the climbing type, the ice block delivery man type. i've still got the tongs that came with the axe. i lost the axe in the woods somewhere.
    Well why not?

It looks almost identical to a hawk that I have that was made from a ball peen hammer, the blade side from the hammer head and the spike side from the small ball end. I am not sure who made it though, it has been around for a while.

Nice RWB, I like skunkkiller's suggestion. Except I would leave about 2" flatened out.

I think tennecedar might be right. We had an ice house in town when I was a kid and they used an ax with a point on one end to drag the block around. The blade was used to score and cut. I can vaguely remember them using the ax but I don't remember what it looked like exactly. (shrug)
