    Default 2D2K Knife

Since the knife I sent 2D2K was stolen, I’m finishing up a replacement for it. Should be in the mail by Monday at the latest. I learned a lesson with the last one. If you are going to insure it, require a signature, otherwise the post office will deny any responsibility.

    Thanks again, crash.

Sorry to hear it was stolen. But if you think I REALLY have it I'll give it back.

Since 2D2K is unable to properly secure a knife of that magnitude, perhaps you should consider sending it to me instead.
Ken has helped me out so much with legal stuff, I need to keep track of it so I can pay him back. I will be placing a 'score card' in my sig as a reminder.

I press it between two 1 X 4's and use three large c-clamps - tightening them to the point where any tighter would probably split the wood.

Does the resin pull off from the wood easy or do you use wax paper to keep this from happening?

I don't know about that but you'd probably loose a nail if you clamped your thumb in there.

Here's a little tutorial I did on the scales I make. http://www.wilderness-survival.net/f...project&page=2 It starts on post 32. Since that posting, I've gone to bigger c-clamps and a little thicker wood so that I could apply more pressure. While I do most of my work in the back yard on a sheet of ply wood sitting on two saw horses - make sure you either do the clamping outside or have catch trays on both ends as you tighten the clamps. I've gotta explore that whole video and you tube thing - might be fun.
