Coleman or Crown fuel are best for it. Back in the day they ran them on leaded gas but the generators clog up real fast, thus they issued several with each stove. Did you look inside the pump tube...
A lot depends upon the nature of the riot. In many of them property not people is the target. You might find yourself caught up in a race riot or similar situation though where you could be at risk. ...
Light is better but you can train yourself to carry a heavier pack. In fact, for conditioning you might want to carry a pack that is heavier than your actual BOB.
My problem is I carry too much...
Another update.
I have now modded my two ALICE packs (1 med, 1 large) and set them up with the MOLLE II straps, waist belt and sleep carrier. What a difference the upgrades make to the pack system....
Just curious if anyone has tried it successfully with one of those hand operated drills? I don't know if it would save any weight, just another tid bit for the tool bag I guess.
I tried one of the mini-sawyers last spring, brought to my attention on this site. It didn't get as much use as I had hoped but I suffered no ill effects from the trip. For the money and ease of use...
These are the ones that contain a bit of lighter fluid, you strike the flint and a wick ignites. 'They' claim they can be used thousands of times.
The reviews on Amazon are mixed though. There are...
Then you're already familiar with survival.
Welcome, by the way. I think the rewilding of Flint is already taking place in many parts of the city. A few years ago I had to do deliveries in some of...
Do the pubes next! :)
I saw something like that in a movie long ago, shaving the face with a knife, not the pubes thing though now that I think about it...:w00t:
I also saw the burning off the...
I'm still hoping there is another season of Detectorists somewhere out there. Another BBC thing that just ended with all kinds of loose sends.

Somewhere in Florida south of Tampa I saw a lump of cob that was the remnant of one of the oldest cob structures in N. America, or Florida or something like that. Point is, it was old and still there...
I forgot all about filters, it's been so long since I've used one.
My old first need filter, circa 1985 is probably not going to be effective anymore, lol.
Thanks for all the responses.
I'll attempt to use wood to help with the boiling, if its permitted. Another thing to look into.
It's been 10 years since I was last there and I don't remember all the rules.
I still have several...
Hi All,
I'm planning a backpack trip this summer (Porcupine Mtns - 4th time) and from experience I know I'll use a lot of water.
There is plenty of stream water available there and I intend to...
A quick google search for communes in GB turns these up. Not sure how close this might be to what you seek and I imagine a cult or two might get into the mix. Due diligence!

I like lensatic compasses for land nav. I've tried other types, mirror compasses and the ones with the rotatable bezel ring and adjustable declination scale. I always come back to the lensatic. For...
I just upgraded to the waist belt and found it worked well also. Just had to make sure not to overtighten the straps that hold it to the pack frame. When tight it feels like a fist on the kidneys,...
Yeah, property rights have been eroded to the point that women are considered equals in some places. :goof:
How about a field expedient sauna? Any good survivalist needs to know how to deal with the grueling ordeal of 100+ degree steamy temperatures in mid-winter.
How do you "clean" this stuff after you've worn and sweated in the jacket for a few months?
I've tried soaking in water to kind of get the B.O. out but it never quite goes entirely away. I guess it...
Wow, these things are great. I tried them out on a hike yesterday and it was almost a pleasure to carry that pack around. How have I lived so long without MOLLE straps?
cool, thanks for the replies.
Right now I'm just replacing straps, the old ones are slipping too much when the pack gets heavily loaded. I may go for other upgrades in time and as I gather more...
Time to upgrade my ALICE pack with a set of MOLLE shoulder straps.
I've been advised to make sure the ones I get come with the load attachment straps.
I have never seen MOLLE straps in person...
Any ideas for what would make a good first gun? Say one with general hunting and home defense uses.
Having military experience I've always thought that primacy of learning and familiarity with...
